no idea about A6, this was just an off the hand conversation and I had not even shown any intention to be a potential buyer and still got an almost 10 L discount. If you are a potential buyer, I would say that, as I read the situation, at least expect a minimum of 10L discount to start with in December. Rest all is how well you could crack them!

Got a forward message stating flat discount of 8 lacs on 2 GC, 3 GL, 6 GC and X3 from an SA at the next door BMW showroom. I'm almost certain this can be pushed to 12 or more on the X3 and 6 GC just incase anyone's looking.

This will be the first time that CBUs will get a duty cut, that too this massive. Even though it is specific to EVs, it will have a ripple effect across the ICE models too. For example: If the i7 becomes 50L cheaper then BMW will have to drop the price/discount the 740i also to similar levels to keep it's sales going.

For once the environmentalist and petrolhead both could win

In addition, the UK-India trade agreement is also likely to see CBU price cuts. Which means Range Rovers could become cheaper!

Agree, global demand is affected due to credit squeeze. Unlike most of us, people in the West usually see the price they pay per month. People got free money - 0-2% ROI and now with 7-9% everyone is feeling the pinch. Now again things are changing, not by Banks but by manufacturers at this time by subsidising interest rates.

Manufacturers have shifted from CBU to CKD or at other times supplied CBU to meet the demand but price reductions to pass benefits to customers - No- never seem one.

As a manufacturer, if I can sell something at 2 Cr, why will I drop the price to 1,5Cr? i7 is on back order and they have a lot of orders.

Haha, looks like you are definitely trying a solid reason for an upgrade. Do you think, Europeans or for that matter, Japanese or Koreans can be left behind? Nothing is going to change so the best will be to make use of Year-end offers.

When GST slab of a certain product is reduced, the government ensures that the price benefit is completely given to customers.
Hence, even if BMW can sell the i7 for 2cr, they will have no choice but to pass on the benefits to the consumer.
Even if the govt does not mandate the price cuts, consumer awareness as well as competitive scenarios will compel some if not all duty benefit to the passed on.

The reason we have never seen price cuts is because we have never had a duty slash on CBUs. I agree it seems far fetched but I am hopeful. Fingers crossed.

GST on EV's including i7 is 5% only

It's the custom duties that Tesla is trying to get reduced in lieu of guaranteed investments. BMW may not be in a position to commit that kind of investment for EV exports. Also, domestic manufacturers usually cry a lot even if they are not operating in that segment.

Yes, 330Li also has discount. On road price is same as 320Ld. Mathematically, the discount is lesser as ex-showroom price is less for 330Li.

For X, there are no such heavy discounts.

I’ve been quoted 53L and 49L for 2024 A4 Technology and PP respectively, OTR Jaipur. This is without even trying to negotiate anything. I’m sure it can come down further if we have a serious conversation.

Is I can get Technology down to ~48L is that a good price to buy? Not sure if that’s even realistic, but someone above said they got quoted 47L for the same version OTR Delhi.

My apologies but while I cant share the quotation, the final on road price is what I have mentioned.

Please do keep in mind that the discounts vary from state to state and also the time of year. I also have a loyalty discount in there so do keep that in mind as well. Right now the discounts are slightly lesser than what I got in September but still close to 10 from what I last heard about 15 days back. You will probably need to reach to multiple dealers to find the best deal for you. Also do check with Audi Karnal as they are usually aggressive with their discounts
