Oh, thanks for the tip! I would have really wanted to wait for cooled seats and UV cut glass (surprisingly missing in this day and age!) but not sure whether the facelift would have these. Do you have any idea on the potential price increases or the kind of features to expect? I didn't imagine that the new RDE/CAFE norms would have such an impact on prices!

If the crossover also launches in March then it would be a worthwhile wait despite the price increase. You had earlier mentioned ~March for this as well.

Honda's upcoming SUV launch is for festive season with SOP target of Aug'23 .

Mar'23 will see update for City only, regarding features & pricing that is the only update and their lips are zipped on leaking anything onto that as of now. I will post for any update I get.

Honda City facelift India launch by March 2023.

Updated Honda City will be sold with pure petrol and petrol hybrid powertrain options.

Quote:
City facelift will get cosmetic tweaks, variant rejig.
Will not come with diesel engine.
City hybrid to get multiple variants
Quote:
To improve City hybrid’s appeal, Honda will therefore introduce affordable variants of the City e:HEV and will thus decrease the gap between the standard City pure petrol and City hybrid.
New Honda SUV to follow:
Honda is also readying a brand-new midsize SUV for India that will make its global debut by mid-2023.

It will be based on an updated version of the platform used by the Amaze in India, and will likely share its powertrain options with the City. A price announcement will take place closer to the festive season this year

If Honda City Hybrid can be launched in V model at 14 -15 lakhs, it would be great launch

My estimate is 14.99 for V hybrid as an introductory price.

re: Honda City Facelift launched at Rs. 11.49 lakhs

Hello members,

My first post on this forum

I was just wondering if the Honda City facelift or the new, upcoming SUV would be made available with the upgraded e:hev that's now seen in the 2023 Honda Jazz Europe.

The new hybrid retains the same system with enhanced outputs from motor outputs (from 80 kW to 90 kW) and engine Bhp by another 7 BHP retaining the same efficiency. The drive gears are also been re-designed for better driveability and smoothness.

I hope Honda would consider plonking this at least in the new SUV considering the weight and aerodynamic resistance encountered with SUV-ish design making the performance more enjoyable.

Most importantly Honda being late to this segment cannot once again give its Indian customers older versions of the technology. To conclude, for all practical purposes, the motor output is technically what one sees at the wheels and 90 kW should be just fine enough to justify Honda seeking its renewal in India.

re: Honda City Facelift launched at Rs. 11.49 lakhs

Hello, as an owner of Honda City VMT 2018 (facelift one), my expectations are similar to what Honda did with 2017 facelift.

As far as cheaper City Hybrid i.e. V Hybrid, I feel keeping the price lower than 15 lacs is not possible because Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder S Hybrid is priced at 15.11 lacs ex showroom (Noida), which doesn't have much features on board. Currently ZX City Hybrid with ADAS is priced at 19.89 lacs ex showroom and most likely in March 2023 it will be slightly more expensive. In my view realistically, Honda may launch Petrol in existing trims with minor tweaks in feature & exterior look and Hybrid (non ADAS) in VX & ZX trims in addition to current ZX with ADAS. City Hybrid is expected to be priced between 16 lacs to 21 lacs ex-showroom.

With the Hyundai gearing up to launch the 2023 Verna by releasing the teaser and opening the bookings, let's see whether Honda feels the heat and starts the launch process of the 2023 Honda City facelift soon.

Honda City facelift to arrive in showrooms on March 2nd, with test drives slated to begin a day later.

Quote:
With the facelift, Honda is also expected to introduce RDE- and E20 fuel-compliant engines in the City.
Quote:
City facelift to get cosmetic and feature upgrades
City e:HEV set to get new entry-level variants
Diesel engine will be discontinued from the line-up
The petrol and the hybrid powertrains, meanwhile, are expected to be upgraded to meet the RDE norms as well as be E20 fuel (20 percent ethanol blend) compliant.

Quote:
The City facelift is, therefore, expected to come with the 121hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearboxes. There will also be the 126hp, Atkinson Cycle 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain that comes mated to an e-CVT transmission.

While its unlikely given their history with this over many decades, it would be good if they give the City facelift meatier tyres, like 195 or 205 sections.

I hope not. Any more premium and the SUV's will kill it.

The only reason Sedan's are surviving on a thread is because they aren't priced obnoxiously like SUV's today and don't have waiting for 1 year.

The City e:HEV is an excellent hybrid but barely sells vs the 1.5 yr waiting for the Hyryder and huge Q for the Grand Vitara Hybrid.

+1
I bought City V in 2021 and ex-showroom price was 11.1 L, now the same variant costs 11.9 L ex-showroom. They can increase the price based on the additional features but not 1-1.5L premium over the current price.

re: Honda City Facelift launched at Rs. 11.49 lakhs

A major factor behind the decent sales numbers of the Gen5 City is its pricing, which comes across as fairly value for money. Otherwise, everyone knows that its build, drive, ride and handling are all inferior to every CSUV in the market today. Honda better not mess up this VFM proposition, for it will find it difficult to complete purely on merit when the price is same.
