By looking at the teaser closely the car looks to be Honda HRV. Good if they launch it here.

Any idea on the City facelift launch?

I am badly waiting to upgrade, my first preference is the new SUV but I would go for the City facelift if the time difference is 4 months or more

The new SUV is an expanded Brio platform, which sits between Brio and the 4th generation City.

I would say the 5th generation City would be much superior and great VFM compared to the SUV being launched, unless the new SUV is priced below 15L ex-showroom for the top model.

Pity that Honda is making a big mistake by not offering H-RV in the Indian market.

HR-V is more closer to CR-V in terms of pricing not city. It will be dead on arrival if launched in India as the price will be around 30 lac.

H-RV is on City platform and C-RV is on Civic platform.

Minimum we require to savour Honda’s tradition is a City platform. Anything lower than that will easily show.

Pricing is a totally different issue.

Honda will likely launch two crossovers in the next 12 months, one <4 mt and the other ~4.3 mt. The demand for the first one will decide whether and what to launch next.

Both these segments are overcrowded at the moment. Why can't some of the manufacturers consider going a size up and launch a 4.5m or 4.6m long SUV.

The Last time I checked it was Mar'23 before RDE implementation. And also to achieve CAFE 2 Lower hybrid trims will without honda sensing will be introduced.

I am not sure whether the upcoming change will see these changes or not. 6 Air Bags Standardization is sure on the cards, but whether we would see it in the Mar23 change is still doubtful because the current facelift has minor cosmetic changes and more to do with RDE & CAFE compliance only.

Having said that my source clearly advised me if you anyone planning to buy city in the next few months , this is the right time because the price increase would be high vs upgrades on offer.
