OT: Lexus would probably be too much. I am willing to see if there will be a Maruti Fortuner on the cards

Strong hybrid version of XL6/Ertiga perhaps?

As per this thread (Maruti Grand Vitara three-row to take on XUV700 & Safari) and other news items available, Maruti indeed is going ahead with a 7 seater based on Grand Vitara to be rolled out by 2025 from their new plant. So in that case, they would happily price it below the Invicto and above the Grand Vitara filling the gap.

As far as enhancement of Ertiga/XL6 is concerned, if they provide 3 point ELR seatbelts for all and 6 airbags in Ertiga and launch a 7 seater variant of XL6 like that in Indonesia (XL7) and with 6 airbags, these would make a superb family car at almost half the price of Invicto.

Re: Maruti Invicto | Re-badged Innova Hycross

This Y17 suv (7 seater grand vitara) is in the works since Dec 2021 if we go by news. I don't know why Maruti needs 4 years to develop this thing.
This should have been launched by now. It would be the perfect family car.

The safari is in no way a true "SUV". It is an FWD monocoque design with a rather attractive SUV skin. The below video from zigwheels was quite eye opening in terms of the capabilities of a RWD Body on Frame crysta vs the new age FWD SUVs.

The build quality is also something I've not been able to relate to. I have a 2018 ecosport that is literally built like a tank. I tested the harrier as a potential replacement and found the perceived build quality and overall fit and finish sub-par in comparison to the ford. The sales rep tried showing me the infamous "thud" of their car door closing which sounded more to me like a "clunk". Of all the cars outside of the ford I tested, the Germans & jeep had a proper "thud". But these are still my personal views.

Re: Maruti Invicto | Re-badged Innova Hycross

Invicto is missing out on 14-15 features which Hycross Provides. Remember till March 1, Hycross VX used to cost 24 lakhs Ex Showroom and it had 360 degree cam, front and rear parking sensors, rear defogger, Automatic D/N rear view mirror and dual tone interior. Invicto also does not have provision to add the Fog lamps at a later stage ! For me all these missing features is a deal breaker for Invicto. No one would like to see these features missing in Base model of Invicto which is close to 25 lakhs Ex-Showroom and which would be 29 + Lakhs on road in Delhi. Maruti think tank has messed up big time!

There is no 7 seater vehicle being worked on by Suzuki to the best of my knowledge. I believe they are creating more space for their upcoming EV.

Re: Maruti Invicto | Re-badged Innova Hycross

Good enough pricing for a hybrid for the Zeta+. I don't miss the panaromic sunroof at all in most cars, with wafer thin covers, which let in so much heat in North Indian summers. But to see some very basic things like the Rear Defogger and Rear Parking Sensors!! missing, in a car of this price range, is really surprising. Also the interior quality from the videos I have seen of this variant, is typical Maruti and not commensurating a car at this price. I would rather buy 2x Grand Vitara Sigma at this price point... Lolz, just joking!

Cheers...

A 37L flagship car with no fog lamps! The indicators look nice, but it would have been better if they had DRLs in them as well. The alloys and tires don't look appealing to me. It seems like a hard choice to make between the VXO and Zeta+. Anyway, let me get an estimated delivery date for both to make the final choice. Bronze does look good, and if I am choosing, that will be the one. The logo on the steering wheel does look out of place. An all-black interior sure seems boring, unlike what they said at the launch, that it will give a premium feel to the customers. Nope, it gives a basic feeling to me. Even the JBL 9-speaker system in the Hycross doesn't sound that great, so I doubt the 6-speaker system performs as well as they make it sound in the presentation.
Around 15 features are missing in Invicto which are present in Hycross ! Do your research

How does that relate to my perspective on the Invicto? I have made bookings for both vehicles, indicating my extensive research on the matter. Therefore, I believe I have invested more time and effort into gathering information compared to you.

It typically takes around 3.5-4 years to build a car from ground up. In case of derivative designs, time to market is faster. Even those take 2-2.5 years, at least in Japan. Even makers like Toyota take this much time for their development in spite of high degree of Digital Engineering.

It relates to the matter that I own a Hycross and I have driven it for more than 3000kms I am using all these features. Its a massive vehicle, Front Parking sensors and 360 degree camera really helps all the time! (which is a miss in Invicto base model which costs 29 lakh onroad). I have fog lamps which actually remove the blind spot. But that is not an option in Invicto. Hence I am saying this out of my experience. In the end its your money, You are better to decide and chose the car you want to buy!

I'm sorry, I still don't understand how your ownership of the Hycross relates to my thoughts on the Invicto. I guess you missed that point at the beginning of my post. Also, in a previous post, I did mention that I meant to say I'm looking for the top-end model Alpha+ which still has those features you mentioned.

Moreover, these features are not something to boast about, as these days aftermarket choices are available that provide 10 times better quality surround view cameras than the factory fitted ones. With a professional installer, the warranty will remain intact.

All I see that's missing in the Alpha+ are ottoman seats, ADAS, fog lamps, 18-inch alloys, an extra 2-year/additional 60,000 km warranty, and a 9-speaker JBL sound system. What did I miss? It's probably something not important.

Well said. Incredibility stupid of Toyota to include the term "CVT" in this drive train as the average Joe starts thinking it is some kind of an enhanced CVT. This is actually completely different and much more sophisticated. Toyota should have coined a new term for this kind of transmission and fire the guy/gal who came up with the term e-CVT.

4. Rear Defogger
5. Acoustic Windshield
6. Automatic Day/Night IRVM
7. Anti -Theft
8. Time adjustable intermittent stage
9. Body Colored outside handles.
10. Missing Connected Car Features/ Application Support.

Hence, Innova Hycross seems to be coming at a better value proposition. Anyone spending 30 lakhs plus Rupees will never compromise on basic features like defogger and Parking sensors. These are bare-minimum features. The Innova Brand may become more premium with the introduction of Invicto.
There is quite a bit missing from Invicto Zeta+ however most of these can be addressed after market. While Toyota service is better, Maruti has wider reach. Hycross/Invicto is a Toyota product and technical support ideally should be better from Toyota. That said 6 airbag(which cannot be added aftermarket) and about 50K+ cheaper sticker price of Zeta+ over VX will pull some customers! Between Alpha+ and ZX, latter is an easy pick despite higher price.
