Re: Nissan X-Trail, Juke & Qashqai showcased in India

I am a Nissan X-Trail (It is called Rogue here) owner and I really love this car. It is an excellent mile muncher. The previous issues with the gearbox have most probably been sorted out. Haven't had any problem with it till now. Considering the price here and it being CBU import for India, I really doubt that the price would be less than 50L. If Nissan wants it not to be a DOA they have to start the manufacturing process here in India and keep it around 30L range.

Everyone is writing about this launch, but I can't see a teaser on Nissan India's website, Insta or Twitter account. So which official source is everyone quoting? In any case, this is likely to be a CBU import and would be priced out of reach.

Ooh

My colleague picked up a XTRAIL SL 2022 model (full option) 16k Kms pre-worshipped in Dubai for 95,000AED (Roughly 22Lacs). The one (to be) launched in India is approx 140K AED (~~32Lacs).

I just did a Google currency convert, with taxes and duties it should touch 55+ Lacs I suppose. It is a very good family SUV, nothing spectacular but a solid car for sure.

What does X Trail compete with internationally? Tucson/Kodiaq or Fortuner?

Just trying to understand the target audience of this car.

But it is said to be good for 203 BHP and 300 NM of torque! With the CVT, it may be more fuel efficient too.

Internationally X-Trail competes with Toyota RAV4, Skoda Kodiaq/Tiguan and Honda CRV.
Over here, it will be up against the Kodiaq/Tiguan, Fortuner, Tucson, Compass etc

I can't find the teaser on Nissan India's website. Can anyone specify where it was uploaded?

Yes, but the CVT's rubber band effect could hamper this power. Will have to wait for the official review before making decisions.

Re: Nissan X-Trail, Juke & Qashqai showcased in India

Is it possible that Nissan is just teasing the Magnite facelift and someone jumped the gun and called it a X-trail launch ?

The image circulating online can be traced down to RushLane and has a 'Block Your Date' printed on it, so it is probably an invitation sent out only to news channels and RushLane etc.

I have to say, those Outlander-ish interiors look sumptuous and easily put rivals to shame. OTOH, I'm not sure how I feel about a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder tortured to send 200+ hp to the wheels, in an expensive CBU, paired with Nissan's sketchy service network.
