Re: 2022 Audi Q3 launched in India at Rs 44.89 lakh

That's way too ambitious pricing for a Q3!
I'd rather buy a VW TIGUAN with similar engine and gearbox with 4motion tech for a few lakhs less and live with some of the missing creature comforts thereby enjoying more interior space.
If not happy with the VW I'll get myself the Skoda Kodiaq instead and rest my case.

Re: 2022 Audi Q3 launched in India at Rs 44.89 lakh

Not sure why are we surprised by this pricing. This was expected looking at the way car prices have been going up month over month. For reference below are the price of Q2 when it was launched in 2020. So if you see the top end price difference is only in the range of 2 lakhs.

Audi Q2 variant-wise prices: - when launched in 2020
Standard - Rs. 34,99,000
Premium - Rs. 40,89,000
Premium Plus I - Rs. 44,64,000 (comparing with Q3 Premium Plus which is 44.89 lakhs)
Premium Plus II - Rs. 45,14,000
Technology - Rs. 48,89,000 (comparing with Q3 Technology which is 50.39 lakhs)

Its a different thing I would close my eyes and pick Tiguan (or Kodiaq may be) over this or any other SUV in that price bracket

Re: 2022 Audi Q3 launched in India at Rs 44.89 lakh

My colleague just picked up his new 330 Li - M Sport for 72 Lakh on-road Mumbai!
Prices are getting insane.

Considering my A4 tech edition was 47.6 lakh ex-showroom Bangalore in 2021, 50.39 Lakh ex-showroom for a 2022 year Q3 before discounts looks OK.

I would like to correct you here although my knowledge is limited.
The Audi from A4/ Q5 and above do not share platform, engine, gearbox or any thing else with the VW/ Skoda cars. This is a misconsemption. Only child part sharing is done from VW all the way to Lamborghini. (Yes, this includes important parts like fuel injectors/ ECU hardware e.t.c)
If my research is correct, the A4 still gets a Torsen AWD system however all MQB cars get the Haldex system.

The A3/ Q3 share the VW platform. Even then they are modified enough between their cousins in VW to make a noticeable difference to any passenger or driver.

Maybe @joshmachine or other members with more knowledge can expand further.

Here’s how the new Audi Q3 stacks up against its chief rivals the BMW X1, Mini Countryman, Volvo XC40 and Mercedes-Benz GLA on the price graph.

Exactly my point. The MQB Q3 is the most expensive MQB car in India now. Whereas an MLB car, the A4 is a little cheaper than that. That is what surprised me. The A4 despite being a proper Audi platform car is a little cheaper than the car which shares its platform with Skoda/VW. I think you misread my message.

Apologies I misread your message. Although the price increase of this SUV over a better appointed Sedan is not surprising and is consistent across the industry.
That's the reason I skipped the SUVs and went back to a sedan.

Here are all the details as per the Audi India Configuration page:-

Re: 2022 Audi Q3 launched in India at Rs 44.89 lakh

I am very surprised by people saying that the new Q3 is overpriced. People will buy the Fortuner for 60lkhs on a heartbeat but are not willing to pay for a Q3. It is weird.
Personally, I like the Q3. Looks smart has got pretty much all the features. We'll see how the market responds to this car. The lack of a diesel is a pretty big downer though.

MOD NOTE :
Please capitalize where required, including a car's make & model.
Thanks.

It's a typical Skoda! More bang for your buck, does 75% of what an Audi does at a cheaper price.
I would compare the Kodiaq with Q5 (and X3 and GLC) and that would be serious VFM.

Re: 2022 Audi Q3 launched in India at Rs 44.89 lakh

If anyone is looking to buy Q3 SUV, he would like to wait for sometime.

Current VW/Skoda/Audi Petrol engines are only E10 compatible.

Starting 01 April 2023, Ethanol E20 petrol will be available in major cities and also BS6 Phase 2 norms are being implemented.

It be safer to buy a petrol car/SUV which is E20 compatible to prevent any future issues.

BMW Petrol engines currently sold are E25 compatible.

Lastly German cars only made sense with huge discounts and giving the restricted supply and similar demand; manufacturers/dealers are having a gala time with higher margins.

I would rather pick Skoda Kodiaq over Audi Q3.

Apart from the requirement of brand value, I really can't think of any other reason why someone would pick the new Q3 instead of a Tiguan/Kodiaq.
Even the A4 Technology costs the same as the Q3 tech. Since, the A4 is dated, discounts can be expected during festive season. I don't see any reason why anyone would pick the Q3 over the segment above A4 which costs the same. At least the A4 is a bespoke Audi as it is based on the MLB platform unlike the Q3 which is based on MQB and is almost similar to the Tiguan.

Faster, sharper, better in all aspects!

Alas!

I pity the guys who have to buy cars in 2021-2023

Hope things will settle down soon

2016 BMW X1 20d Expedition variant was launched at Rs 29.99 Lakhs only.

With discount in range of 3-7 Lakh depending on variant you buy back in Jan 2018.

Thank you!

Imagine

And twice as better than the underpowered insipid Q3, which feels like a Kia Seltos.

The 2016 X1, though a little bumpy, was so sharp, nippy, and fin to drive.

Alas, these big touchscreen buyers of overpriced cars, will never have the joys we have had.

Dont think X1 20d will be faster than Q3 2 TSI. Lets wait for the test drive reports.

Re: 2022 Audi Q3 launched in India at Rs 44.89 lakh

Back in its heydays (pre-BS6 era), the Q3 along with the A4 was the darling of Audi India sales charts.

But the Q3 retailing now at 50+ big ones is a shocking price! I would say, potentially harakiri pricing.

Against competition, it is the most expensive to buy upfront vs the GLA (expensive in its own way) and the X1 (nearing end of life for this current-gen).

While the Q3 may have entered the market at a time when supply chains may still be stabilizing across the board and hence putting some entry price barriers, but surely for it to (re)succeed against a very established competition (now with the potent XC40 also in the mix these days), Audi may have to heavily discount the Q3, possibly as soon as December itself!

I would be dreaming when I say give us the RS at 50 lakhs, Audi.
