Re: DIY: Renewal of Maharashtra (MH) Driving Licence online

Ohh man! This entire online process is such a slow burner, you really need to have patience of steel to do this entire thing online.

I made the online application on 13th March for online renewal of driving license and they boldly put out on the website that it is contactless online application, no need to go to RTO.

And starts the eternal wait, 2-3 times they asked to upload the document again which is basically just the driving license in my case. It took them 3 times to verify after ample amount of days. Even I was adamant on not going to RTO, wanted to see how it goes.

Finally, on 3rd attempt the document is accepted and now my DL is in printing stage since 27th April!! God knows which printer on this earth they use. My current DL has already expired now inspite of starting the process more than 2 months back.

Now the wait continues for printer to print the god damn thing and hopefully courier won't take another month! Till then will have to drive using the application receipt :(

So basically, take this route only and only if you have enough time in hand and the will if you want to only do it online!

My application is stuck at Approval of endorsements on DL since the past one month. That will be followed by printing and then dispatch.

There is no grievance cell to take up the matter so ultimately I had to succumb to calling my RTO agent and have asked him to intervene. The purpose of avoiding the agent fees and under the table charges is nullified now

I get it absolutely, it can be quite unnerving as things just get stuck for eternity. Especially if someone's planning a road trip or something.

But given that I had time and no immediate plans, I persisted on it. I ultimately called the RTO by finding their number on Google (still damn adamant to not visit them ). And what I learn is that they are still printing licenses approved on 1st April as apparently they were short of license cards!! So as per the person whom I spoke to, my license's printing number should probably come in next 15 days! And the wait continues..... not sure how genuine that was, but if it is, then an agent wouldn't help as well.

Btw the call was transferred to 3 people before I could speak to someone, apparently to ensure I was speaking to the right person from the printing department! So much for efficiency

I called the Andheri RTO number - 022 26323315 and explained my situation to a lady who picked up and she transferred the call to another person and he transferred to another person who eventually gave me the update. Sorry, no names as they either only transfer or give a quick update and disconnect the call.

Re: DIY: Renewal of Maharashtra (MH) Driving Licence online

Looking out for some advice DL renewal - Pune, Maharastra. Hope somebody can help me out.

My DL has expired for more than a year (I am not driving) and i am 40+

I have already filled and submitted online form and received Acknowledgement.

I am stuck for guidance for below three points

1. Print Form1-A (Being 40+): I have pre filled Print Form1-A provided by website. However it needs to be certified by RTO approved doctor. Somehow, i am not able to find list of RTO approved Dr so i can get it done. Has anybody done it recently and kind enough to share details?

2. RENEWAL WITH RE-TEST : Since license has expired more than 365 days, i have received "RENEWAL WITH RE-TEST" remark. Now i am confused if i need to enroll for learners license as well? What should i do next?

3. Once i have all these requisite documents , where do i upload them on website to make payments? Believe, this i need to do before my actual visit to RTO office.

Thanks for all time and guidance.

Hi,
I can help you with Question 1 and 3

Any MBBS doctor can certify this form. I had got it done from a random MMBS doctor while applying for International DL. It was approved immediately.

Once you have the documents ready you can upload them at https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan//...ent/mparivahan where you will be redirected several times and there will be an application number which will be generated . You need to select COMPLETE YOUR PENDING APPLICATION and enter your application number. Then you will get the option to upload all the documents.DIY: Renewal of Maharashtra (MH) Driving Licence online-m-pari.jpg

Even after doing the whole process online, one has to physically visit the RTO. This defeats the entire purpose of “online renewal”.

Thank you for taking out time providing information.

I have visited RTO and found out, there are many doctors available inside RTO (Generally they sit in abandoned looking car - front seat) and promptly stamp your form (without checking any fitness) for mere Rs. 100. (So much for Fitness Test and having medically fit drivers on Indian road).

I got whole process done now including uploading and giving driving test. My old original smart license is also submitted to RTO.

Only thing remaining is "Wait" to get new license and looking at other post, it seems it will take few months. This is current status and i have already re-uploaded my documents once.Attachment 2493058

Yepp... I complained about this in my post exactly a year ago, but after that there were quite a few articles making it sound like now it's fully online (or maybe it is at some different RTOs, but not Tardeo/MH01)...

Submitted my Dad's license renewal application 2+ months ago, and it's stuck at exactly the same stage!

Not sure about other RTOs, been dealing only with MH01 (RTO Mumbai Central). Had to physically visit the RTO to submit the old license and print-outs of all the necessary paperwork at the counter there, after submitting the forms online anyway!

However, surprisingly, the flow has moved rapidly. Appending screenshot below:

Re: DIY: Renewal of Maharashtra (MH) Driving Licence online

My DL (from RTO-Andheri) was up for renewal and I submitted the application/documents over a period of 2-3 days since the website does not seem to work as intended in the evenings. Early mornings is when I had a smooth experience (no 404/403 messages or multiple captcha entries). Based on my address, the RTO is now the Borivali/Dahisar one (MH47). Completed the online submissions on 2/August/2023.

On 12/September/2023, I reached the MH47 RTO office by 1:30PM with all the printouts and stood outside counter 4. After about 10-15 minutes, the guy at the adjacent counter informed me to go to counter 7. After standing in queue for about 10 minutes, my application got returned because I used the Form1-A template available on the website to get the Doctor's signature. They needed the Doctor's signature in the pre-filled Form 1-A that is generated with the application reference number in the upper right corner. Went outside, found a copy-center that advertised Doctor's certificate (if I remember correctly, the shop advertised itself as Magick Refuel). They took a screenshot of the application reference number, whatsapped it to a Doctor, got an OTP followed by a call for the OTP, paid 200/- and got a printout of Form 1-A with the name of the Doctor on it (no signature).

Took the documents (along with the existing smart-card DL) back to the counter and they fortunately accepted the same although the counter closes at 2PM. Got a message from Vahaan indicating scrutiny of the application/documents was complete. Was told that it will take 30 days for the DL to arrive.

Entire process above took about 45-50 minutes. Note that the cardboard placards in front of the counters indicate the timings as 10-30AM to 2PM.

If you are taking public transport to Kandarpada where the MH47 RTO is located, consider taking the Link Road or WEH Metro. There is a Metro station at Kandarpada. From there, either a short autorickshaw ride or bus number A245 will take you to the RTO premises.

Question: Since I already had a smart-card DL, is it still required to provide the biometrics and get a photograph taken? They did ask a lady ahead of me in the queue who had the paper DL to get the biometrics & photo taken but they did not mention the same to me.

So I asked an employee at the RTO counter about this, and his answer was:

For 100% online-only license renewal you need to authenticate using Aadhaar!!

I know that in my case and my father's case, I did try that, but due to tiny mis-matches between Aadhaar & license data (eg. full middle name vs middle initial), it was NOT easily possible, and I had to use SMS/OTP instead.

100% online renewal isn't possible with the alternative OTP/SMS verification. Only happens for Aadhaar.

So I guess that answers it!

Not required.

Re: DIY: Renewal of Maharashtra (MH) Driving Licence online

Hi,

I need to renew the license for my father(65+) and I am leaning towards online route to do it instead of agents (one quoted 2600 for the task). Have a couple of questions.

1) Is there a link with RTO approved doctors(saw it mentioned in many posts but did not see an actual link).
2) Documents required are Form1-A and self attested scanned copy of existing DL and Aadhar card. Is anything else needed?
3) Have there been cases of renewal rejection if Form1-A is not signed by an RTO doctor? We plan to get it signed by a government employed MBBS doctor whom my father visits for consultation/medicine topup.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thank you.
