In current scenario, almost every car has waiting and for getting new car one has to wait for 2-3 months at least. Very difficult time for buyers who are ready to pay but cars are not available. Due to this, old cars also having sunny days and demanding heavy premium in some cases.

But in this difficult times also, some dealers have cars readily available in rare scenarios. Catch is you have very limited choice in color or variant. Last year when I bought my Ertiga Zxi+, it was having 3+ months waiting period. I checked with 3 dealers and everyone saying same thing. Luckily I checked with one more dealer & to my luck, I got one Zxi+ readily available in Grey color which I was looking for. I immediately booked and got delivery within 10 days with all formalities completed including RTO number plate.

This weekend I went to couple of showrooms for new car for my brother. We mainly went to Maruti, Nexa and Tata. All cars have waiting, can't help. In Nexa, we got to know that they have 1 Ignis Zeta variant coming in 2 days from factory and can be readily available. Also they have 2 last S-Cross remaining in Zeta version. They are also ready to provide accessories worth 50K in the deal. With hard bargain, one can get few more things as well if someone is looking to buy one.

BHP'ians can put such info here so that others can grab such opportunity in such tough time. Normally most of the dealers has 1-2 cars readily available due to some cancellations, extra inventory asked or some other reasons. But because of not having right information, it's very difficult to grab opportunity. If this info is shared, can help someone who is desperately looking to buy new car.

I got my compass within 2 weeks of booking, and that includes a delay because we switched loan providers.

Hyundai Alcazar is available for ready delivery. Honda City as well. A couple of weeks tops if you insist on any particular colour.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Waiting periods are a marketing tactic. They play the customer for a fool. Instead of having to push a sale with discounts and offers, they have created a scenario where the customer ends up chasing them with a premium, just for a delivery. There are a few exceptions where there in genuine waiting, but mostly, all makes are in it. Even for in-demand cars like XUV700 and Kia Carens. You’ll be amazed on how the waiting periods drops from 1 year to 1 month when you show your willingness to buy their overpriced accessories, graphene coating etc.

We booked Urban Cruiser AT (original) and got delivery in 10 Days in Mumbai. I have heard the same from different parts of the country. Also, in Mumbai, Alcazar is ready and with some extra added accessories, some discounts are also possible. Thanks to Carens/Scorpio/XUV.
Last I heard, even Thar waiting has come down drastically post the XUV/Scorpio launch.

Check with Baner Nexa. I guess they have 2 in base trim and 1 top end available with them. They are ready to give lots of freebies as well.

A friend booked the Altroz XT (P) White on June 28. Was told that delivery would take 1-2 months. Vehicle was allotted on July 5 and reached Coimbatore dealer on 15th July.

It depends on the colour and the variant in the production queue.

Don't think so. Why they will keep lakhs of people waiting? They are really struggling with semi conductor issues and few more. Yes, they have increased the prices and taking undue benefit but scenario is real. They are really finding it difficult to do deliveries. Just take example of Tata or Mahindra, they are experiencing such demand literally first time in their history. Do you think they will lose it by playing such tactics as you are saying? Also they are loosing so many customers every month due to unavailability of cars like XUV700, Scorpio, Nexon, etc. They are trying hard to make sure demands are met soon and grab the opportunity.

Citroen C5s are available for ready delivery, according to the Salesman (who was helping my friend with his C5 purchase) in Bangalore. According to him, the dealership maintains around 15 vehicles in their yard. My friend booked his and took delivery after 3 days.

The Skoda Slavia 1.0 manual is readily available for delivery at panvel(Navi mumbai) showroom.

MS Ignis is available without any waiting period. In fact, you can get a good discount on that too. I checked NEXA showrooms in NCR, but I think this would be the case everywhere since it's never in too much demand.

Been to Tata, Mahindra, Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Toyota showrooms over the past 10 days. Let me tell you, even cars like XUV700 are available. They won’t say it to your face directly, at least not before you cough up the booking amount. Fact is that both AX3 and AX5 are available within a month if you are not fussy about the colour. Of course, if you want the AX7L AWD or the base MX, that takes time. The company priorities the fastest selling models, which are the middle ones.

It’s the same story at the others. Someone was taking a Carens delivery, he got his car within 6 weeks of booking. He was liberal with his purchase of accessories and extras. The ‘official’ period quoted to me was 1 year, which is hilarious.

Toyota Innova is officially available in 15-30 days, that’s from the initial discussion. For the Fortuner, they have made the premium official. Basic 4x2 diesel automatic needs 6-8 months. The Legender and GSR can be made available in 4-6 weeks!! Again, pretty sure this will reduce once the booking is made and you sit across the table.

Granted, there are genuine cases like Nexon EV, where demand far outstrips supply. Or certain specific variants that are deliberately not prioritised on the assembly line, for demand or profitability reasons. But otherwise, all this talk of insane waiting periods is hogwash. If you are a little flexible with you choice of variant and colour, you can get any car home in a month or two. The big change is that instead of you haggling over discounts, the ‘deal’ you will negotiate will be over the so called waiting period.

Most cars incl. XUV7OO seem to be available on lease in a month's time. Two of my friends have taken delivery of their cars in less than a month on company lease.

VW Taigun as well as Virtus in 1.0 AT and MT guise are readily available at various VW dealerships in Hyderabad while 1.5 DSG might take 2 months is what I heard but someone I know had bought his Taigun 1.5 DSG within a week in Hyderabad recently and I was offered a Virtus 1.0 AT Topline by a VW dealer recently.

And, when I went to the nearby Mahindra dealer for Scorpio-N TD and in the meantime, I was checking the waiting period of Thar and XUV700 in the display, I was surprised to see that the Thar convertible top will be delivered in just 4-6 weeks while Hard top takes 6 months to be delivered but can be delivered much earlier than what Mahindra told and, in fact, I was offered a Thar D AT HT as well as CT AT in Black and D AT HT in Grey colour recently for immediate delivery while they said none about 700 due to demand.

And, recently, one of my close friends had bought a City ZX CVT in white colour within 3 days from booking.

Even Harrier and Safari are available for immediate delivery at various Tata dealerships.

Meanwhile, I myself booked a Seltos D AT and was quoted a waiting period of 3-4 months, which we are ok with waiting for it.
