Is the 'Track Order' option enabled online now? Recently in a YouTube video, I saw a vlogger checking Z8 status and tracking his order. However I am not able to see this option in Mahindra website.

It is not working for me either.

PS- My 1st estimated delivery date for Z8 AT 2WD was 23 Feb to 22 March which was later pushed to 23 March to 22 April.

The tracking button under “my booking” section has still not been activated for Scorpio-N bookings.

We have experienced one round of price hike this month. On top of that if the delivery schedule is further delayed then it will add to our agony.

If one has introductory price protection, it means quite a lot of savings/discount.

I was also cursing Mahindra before my Z4 came. You can see it in my older posts. But now very happy with the vehicle and the brand overall. I was super impressed by the Autocar India video on the Pininfarina Battista.

Wait if you can, if you have no deadline to procure a vehicle. It is worth the wait. Lastly, the frustration is only going to raise your blood pressure. So chill, it is coming.

I called up the dealership today and the sales guy looking after my booking said that Z8 billing has started. But the delivery will happen in May-June as there is a delay because of BS6.2.

Can someone explain the process? What happens in billing and what other steps are there? At which stage do I need to make payment, apply for a loan etc.? Thanks.

Factory dispatches have been initiated for Z8. A friend of mine did PDI earlier this week in Bangalore, delivery scheduled next week. There were few more in the yard is what I am told.

Once factory billing is initiated, the dealer has to confirm the allocation. At this point the dealer might request additional payment which you may or may not agree to. Beyond this the car would get dispatched from the factory (by railway) and should reach the dealer yard within a couple weeks at the most. You can do the PDI and initiate loan disbursements before scheduling the delivery.

Registration should take a couple days to about a week, so should the loan process. You can initiate the loan process post PDI or around the time the car reaches dealer yard.

Hope this helps.

Notice that Mahindra has already missed 4 delivery dates
  1. Dec - Jan - Missed
  2. Jan - Feb - Missed
  3. Feb - Mar - Missed
  4. Mar - April - Missed
  5. 15 May to 22 May - New deadline

I wrote an email to customer care of Mahindra and the dealership. I do get prompt responses from both of them but they reiterate the date mentioned in the system, but no one is able to clarify the reason for delays and a solid delivery date.

Friends, I want to understand what can I do to expedite my delivery. Whom should I approach? What are my legal options?

Thanks

If in hurry go for Safari / Harrier or get in touch with Mahindra Dealer pay a dear amount over already high prices.

Meanwhile tracking has again gone offline in Track my Booking

I got an allocation call for my Z8 D AT today. SA said that the vehicle could reach their yard in about 10 days.

Does anyone have a handy PDI checklist, please can you share?

A friend managed to get delivery in flat 3 days. What he did is below

1. Called up all dealers within radius to understand the pipeline
2. Kept the color option open - he very strongly wanted a white
3. Told the dealers to call him up if any cancellations come up

He was lucky, to get a white itself. Dealers mentioned few colors have less demand and easy to get in case of cancellations

He didn't buy a single accessory, negotiated on the insurance as well and purchased with zero premium. Seems every month end or so, M&M has a backlog which they check against cancellations and allow dealers to book it on the spot for delivery.

PS : Those who may be willing to save a few lakhs, please head to pre-owned car websites. I noticed a Scorpio for about 3-4L less listed in Olx last week. If you are lucky, you may find a super good deal.

Can you please shed some light on this? Mahindra finance has just 6.99% for all customers?

I told one salesman that there is an X amount of money available for a car with a friend, what would you sell to him?

That is it, in a few days we found a vehicle that through normal process would take minimum one year to come - my friend was flexible with variant and color, flexible with budget too.

Another fellow was quite the opposite, I found him a better variant that he asked for but he wants the same color, same variant - its going to be a year long wait at least, no chance of anything happening before that.

Car buying has indeed changed quite a bit, sometimes its good to let a salesman work for his sale - its a win win at the end of the day.
