I was referring more the direct competition to the Grand Vitara, such as Creta, Seltos, etc. The Grand Vitara is severely under powered when compared to it's direct competitors.

I know that you mean. I managed to get my hands on the Ford Figo 1.5 liter 4 Cyl Sigma Petrol engine with DCT. It's a blast to drive with the 120 odd horses and 137 nm torque.

I think majority of Maruti's customers don't care, but those who buy other brands do, hence the better powertrains in the competitors.

Globally Suzuki is a very very fringe player with limited volumes. Hence, they probably don't have the budget to invest in modern Direct Injection gasoline engines and modern gearboxes. They were flogging the 4-Speed automatic for the longest time even when our own desi companies moved to 6-Speed.

A good review by GaadiWaadi on milege after full tank.

Reviewer was getting a little frustrated at the end, because car was refusing to stop.

He also demonstrated scenario if there is no fuel or battery charge - vehicle starts on petrol (post top up) .. so less battery dependency.

Noted this at 22:07 min. See the screenshot about the average speed of 36 km/hr. Is that a real world highway test or a hypermiling test to show a higher average? It would be hard to imagine taking a highway trip at an average speed of 36 km/hr.

Hopefully somebody can explain.

If I see some more screenshots where the speedometer is visible, it is evident that he is not driving at highway speeds.

Well, there are times when I travel to Patna, a distance of 75 kms and it takes about 2 hours or more. And the average speed comes to around 35-40kmph. But I do maintain speeds of 80kmph. So it's very much possible to get an average speed of 36kmph on a highway. I don't see anything wrong in that.

Your point is valid, but at the beginning he is saying he will keep the average speed around 75-80 kmpl, and his odometer never shows anything above 60. My question would be, will such an mileage be achieved while maintaining average speed of 70-80? Anyway, based on the video, I am not yet convinced, real world data will come and the truth will be known.

Driving 1300 kilometers at an average speed of 36 kmph would take around 38-40 hours.
