Re: 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara to debut on July 20 | Pre-bookings open

With now much more clarity on how the ranking would be between brezza and vitara

I assume pricing for the Vitara for strong hybrid be between 20-24 lakhs OTR given Brezza’s top end is 16.3 lakhs OTR (NCR)

Have booked Grand Vitara strong hybrid yesterday with the local dealer. Nexa Sales executive through whom I booked the vehicle categorically said that the top end Alpha+ won’t be more than 20.5lakh on-road. If it does go beyond that price bracket then we all know it won’t sell and Maruti is well aware of it.

Keeping fingers crossed 🤞🏼

That’s quite optimistic on the pricing front. We’ve all witnessed how manufacturers have gone all out on pricing. I mean each segment of cars are now priced at a segment above it

Right now, i20 N line top end is about 14 lakhs OTR. You really believe that the top end model of Vitara strong hybrid would be 20 lakhs ?

I so hope you’re proven right and I am wrong.

One word- 'Ugly'. Trust MS to always do it with their first car in a segment. they did it with S cross years back and repeating the same trend now with Grand Vitara. Why couldn't designers in Suzuki make it with good looking front!

With Hyrider and GV, I would go with former completely due to better looking front, rest of things are cloned anyways.

But wait. MS always sells because of their high FE which they make sure to advertise. So yes, this will sell like a hot cake this time.

For those who don’t want power Suzuki had plenty of models starting from the S-Presso.
I think it's a step in the right direction. A 3.2 litre V6 equivalent engine in today's times still cannot move volumes in India. It's just good business sense what Suzuki's done with the new GV and I'm all for it. The one area they need to improve is build quality/safety. Hopefully they've done enough but only time will tell.

These are not my words nor I have any clue regarding the pricing of Grand Vitara. This is what sales executive told me before I booked the vehicle and he sounded very confident about it. At first, I was very surprised, especially when we consider the pricing of newly launched Maruti brezza.

Also, if you go through some previous posts, some of the members have mentioned the same regarding the pricing of Vitara. I’d like to believe them and sales executive to whom I spoke yesterday.

In comparison with the real Grand Vitara.

The new Grand Vitara may be entirely different from its predecessor in various regards, but they both share the same motive — to move Maruti Suzuki into a premium, high-end space.

A flagship is a halo model for the brand not a mass mover nor is it intended to bring in volumes or improve business directly. It indicates the highest level of the brand and what the brand can achieve in terms of performance, handling, comfort, features etc.

The regular Brezza should have been the one for volumes. This initiative dilutes the brand.

Think Hayabusa with a 150cc engine.

Re: 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara to debut on July 20 | Pre-bookings open

1. Is there any chance or product roadmap that Maruti Suzuki will launch Allgrip+AT in near future, may be within a year from now?

Or, is there any technical constraint to have Allgrip+AT combination?

2. Now I own a Swift 2016 petrol. Is the suspension set-up of GV/ Hyryder substantially better than Swift?

Reason for this query is my next purchase must have a robust suspension for the severe road conditions in my regular commute route. We have deep potholes and craters everywhere, top surface of roads is non-existent, roads are mostly repaired by stones and soil just to get washed away in days. And in order to pass through the trucks and goods carriages safely, we can't always slow down the cars due to bad roads.

Infact the only reason making me look at Maruti is this AWD even knowing that one slouch of an engine. But the way future seems for diesel there seems no choice to sacrifice few things.

Considering XL6 manual Alpha variant goes for 14.5 on road Gurugram. I am hoping this AWD version Alpha should not cost more than 16-16.5 on road.

Those "high contrast" colors look nice on the car and overall the GV makes a good competitor for Creta/Seltos.

Mileage range of 28kmpl is great but, I am afraid they don't price it in that range

Re: 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara to debut on July 20 | Pre-bookings open

Booked Alpha+ Strong Hybrid. I think it'll have all the bells & whistles that I am looking for in a car. In the current market, the only missing features which would be sorely missed are AWD and memory seats.

Finger crossed now.

This is not the flagship or Halo model, at least that is not the way Suzuki views it. The halo is supposed to be casted by technology, which is hybrid tech in this case. The halo product would be the EV coming in 2025.

The Grand Vitara was the flagship for several years and positioned as such by Suzuki along with the earlier XL-7.

Obviously it is no more a flagship with a 105 bhp engine.

We are not talking about the future or EV’s which is best a guessing game at this point in time but what the brand had already positioned as it’s flagship.
