Just spoke to a Nexa Dealer near my place & as per him price reveal will be in Aug & delivery will start from last week of Sept. He expects vehicle to be available in showroom from first week of September.

Also , As per him zeta smart hybrid may be priced around 18 lakhs on road Bangalore.

I agree. Atleast online and brochures, it definitely looks better (again personal preference). I just wish they had put some efforts in making interior stand out different

If anyone is looking to buy automatic variant of Grand Vitara , attached is the key features spread , variant wise.

This spread is exactly same as Toyota Hyryder. I was hoping for ventilated seats in Mild Hybrid top variant at least in GV. But unfortunately , only Strong Hybrid top variant gets all features.

Somehow, I didn't like GV from front. To me, it looks too much XL6-ish, and yes, I didn't like look of XL6 in the first place.

I liked front facia of HyRyder, which I have seen in flesh.

Now that explains why the AWD model doesn't get ventilated seats.

Maybe the reason why the Hyryder didn't have any display models with the AWD mode selector was because Toyota only showed the hybrid models. Maybe they wanted to show the model with their part in it (the hybrid engine), whereas Suzuki can proudly show the AWD model since it is their own.

Is this the price expectation for the mild hybrid or strong hybrid? I was told by the nexa dealers here in hyderabad that the top end strong hybrid variant will not cross 20L. I find it a little hard to believe but the sales folks themselves were suggesting that nobody would buy a maruti above 20L.

I have booked the topend Alpha+ variant today at Jayabheri Nexa showroom in hyderabad. I was told there are 40+ bookings from their showroom and expected deliveries promised sometime in the month of Sep. Further, he also mentioned that there is a plan to do mass deliveries for the first 100 cars just like other brands did for Kia Carens, Volkswagen Virtus. Of course, I am not sure how much of this is really true.

I will be cancelling the booking for the breeza topend that I had booked earlier.

I'm not sure if it just me, but the interiors look more premium on Korean twins. Some features are getting dropped on mild hybrid versions and the strong hybrid will come with premium. It'll be interesting to see the dent it might make to the Korean twins and where pricing will play a critical role. I hope they fare better on NCAP ratings with atleast a 4 star.

Literally, there is nothing much to differentiate between Grand Vitara and Hyryder. I have expected that some of the short falls of Hyryder like rear head room, compromised boot space ( Strong hybrid ), not so big Sunroof, transparent sunroof shade, small 9 inch touch screen will be addressed in Grand Vitara. But, it has not happened. So, both cars have identical pros and cons in this segment.

Mild Hybrid:
Nothing much to talk about this. That new 1.5 K petrol engine from Suzuki will just get the work done. There is nothing significant to win or loose from this engine. Good boot space is an added advantage in these variants. We can expect a decent FE of 15-18 kmpl in reality. Torque converter AT mated to this engine is also lame based on the reviews of Brezza, XL6 and Ertiga. How the AWD available only in MT guise, going to perform is an open question.

Strong Hybrid:
USP of these Japanese twins. How well this engine is going to perform with the boost from electric motor, is going to decide the fate of this duo. Boot is compromised in both the cars. It is understandable and acceptable, provided the user is getting the expected benefit, from the so hyped Hybrid technology. If this engine and e-CVT combo from Toyota able to perform better than the 1.5 NA of Suzuki along with good FE in City, there is nothing that can stop these twins from winning the market share. Provided pricing is sensible compared to the competition.

The front grill, the rear huge light bar, led strips, alloys etc make no or very minor impact on the sales, as these twins are going to compete with the Korean beasts, who are experts in providing first in segment features in their cars. Unless both the cars Hyryder/Grand Vitara are test driven, we can't find answers for many of the open questions. Hope the manufacturers pull their socks up and be quick in revealing the price and providing test drive vehicles. Delaying the deliveries is acceptable up to an extent as every other manufacturer is doing now a days. But holding the pricing and demo vehicles is not a good idea. Testing the patience of the customers is not beneficial for the makers in anyway.

This is an all-new car built on Suzuki's Global C platform. If a car is built on the platform of another car, then it is considered as a reworked model?

By this logic, we can call Fortuner a reworked Innova and 5th gen City a reworked 4th gen City right?
