Is AllGrip MT only like Hyryder? Did they just "Tata" us?

Re: 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara to debut on July 20 | Pre-bookings open

Moderators please merge the threads on Grand vitara and HyRyder as there is not much to discuss between the two.

I feel Hyundai and Kia are managing their inventory and models well to differentiate the models based on the same platform.

Only way this car would become successful is if one really gets the claimed fuel efficiency in real life as advertised; and Maruti or Toyota keeps the prices in check so that advantage of buying hybrids doesn't get diluted due to higher sticker prices. We already have an example in Honda City itself.

As per the brochure, ARKAMYS Sound Tuning is present in Zeta+ variant of strong hybrid, but missing in Alpha+ variant of strong hybrid. Is this a typo.

So still no price. Nexa dealership folk already have started calling asking for Aadhaar and PAN card and what not for processing booking. How and why can we do all this without a TD and knowing the price? This is not a 10 rupee chocolate bar to play it blind.

I feel this looks much better than the Hyryder and the Creta (no offence to the owners).

Any info on when will the prices be revealed?

That is the ARAI certified mileage. Having better FE is the whole point of having a strong hybrid. Honda city hybrid has a claimed mileage of 27 kmpl. Every model sold in India comes with an ARAI certified FE figure usually which is a lot different from real world average. Whether some one can achieve ARAI FE or not is a different question. I can get the same on diesel engine in highway condition but never on a petrol vehicle. However usually the strong hybrid cars provide an FE close to the claimed figure in city conditions (where usually FE takes a hit on non-hybrid cars) because engine is not always on. Recent autocar test for Honda city hybrid mentions that the real world FE is very close to the claimed FE.

Re: 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara to debut on July 20 | Pre-bookings open

Personally speaking, this looks better than the Hyryder to me.
The front is much more bold and aggressive and looks the part for an SUV; the Hyryder had a more softer appearance. Loved the tail lamps arrangement too.

Havent compared the Hyrder and GV brochures side by side, but the Zeta variant has pretty much everything that I am looking for in a 5 seater. Yes, the engine is a weak point compared to the Koreans, but thats it. In all other departments, including safety and now features, it either trumps or is comparable to the Koreans.

This will be a big winner for MS, no doubt. They even provided auto climate control from the base variant

Given both Hyryder and GV are made at a Toyota plant, does anyone see difference in build consistency/quality control between the two? I am guessing the Toyota badge will command a premium over the MS one, but I cant see any reason to go for the Toyota variant apart from snob value.

Personally I find both the front and rear facade better looking in Grand Vitara than in Hyryder. Can someone start a poll to see how the majority opinion is splitting between the OEMs ?

Overall this design doesn't have a wow factor as I feel it gives MPV design vibes from side but I feel it will grow on people with time. As per me, the front fascia looks very similar to Hector.

You are absolutely right my friend!!

I have been amused with this decision as well. It is a bummer for customers who want to buy an AWD version and also have a passion for creature comforts.
It seems, in order to control exorbitant cost against AWD variant, they have cut corners in the AWD offering.

Re: 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara to debut on July 20 | Pre-bookings open

Grand Vitara looks way better to my eyes (atleast), than the HyRyder. Anyway, beauty...beholder. Both cars are identical under the skin, so it all comes down to pricing, looks and brand affinity.

Have booked the Maruti GV. Interested only in the Alpha+ Hybrid e-CVT trim.

Thus begins the wait for prices, display car and the most important, thorough city B2B traffic test-drive to confirm the 27 KPL FE.

Re: 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara to debut on July 20 | Pre-bookings open

So they replaced the slot for seat ventilation buttons with Allgrip mode selector? Is it going to be the same for Hyryder as well. Because I could not find any pictures of mode selector in Hyryder.

Also what is the ground clearance.

Car looks better than Toyota's version. Taking out all chrome bits will make it look much better

This is genuinely frustrating. Why invite bookings for Rs.11,000 so much in advance if you are only showing customers the car after 2 months? The Toyota dealer told me the car will be on showroom floors only on September 15th. I got the same date from the Maruti dealer as well. And it seems they were right.

This is just bad business practices. Way to kill the excitement behind a new launch, Toyota and Maruti.
