So despite this being a car designed from scratch, Maruti and Toyota couldn't do enough to differentiate the two? The interiors are exactly the same save for the colour pallete. Only the face is where one would be able to tell the two cars apart. Heck, even the rear is very similar down to the indicator placement.

Also, In my opinion the Toyota just looks better, be it the face, back or the alloys.

One version of Hybrid 6 with Airbags (Zeta Maybe ) below 20L OTR will do it for me just fine!

Hyundai/Kia must be sweating for sure, with the electric motor you have the torque, and with above 20Kmpl in almost all conditions, you don't need their okayish 1.5 Diesel at all.

So Maruti/Toyota has covered petrol and Diesel (more than Half for Hyundai) customers with one stroke.

I just hope the hybrid has comparable performance to Hyundai Turbo petrol (I have a feeling it won't)

I firmly believe this is a heavily modified global Grand Vitara and not a completely new car, just like the "all" new Breeza and Baleno.

Anyway if they price it right, the hybrid system actually delivers and the global C platform hasn't been compromised, then it is a car worth buying.

Personal Opinion: To me the Urban Cruiser Hyryder looks better than the Grand Vitara.

But no interior change is what bugs me to the core! VW and Škoda also have cars that are absolutely same underneath, but they ensured that the exterior and interiors are completely different. Ensuring that people have that one additional option while picking a car of their choice. In case of Toyota and Maruti version’s people will choose the car only according to the badges on the respective car. Other bits right from the interiors, to the feature list to the engine specs is all same.

Part sharing is acceptable but what is unacceptable is no change in the interiors other than the colour scheme!

All Grip only on the MT and mild-hybrid. Only 2 strong hybrid variants. Only one strong hyrbrid variant with 6 airbags. Even the colour options are the same as the Hyryder it would seem!

A shocker is some features like ventilated seats only being reserved for the top-end variant of the strong-hybrid. Mild-hybrid top end is left high and dry.

The Grand Vitara looks to have strong resemblance to both the Global Vitara and the new S-Cross, and in a good way. While similarities to the HyRyder are obvious, I'm more impressed with how the Maruti avatar looks.

BTW, the webcast ended really abruptly and resumed after an unnounced interval. They should've atleast revealed by when we would know what we really need to - availability of demo cars and pricing!

MS is on a rampage. 3 launches in a short span and the Grand vitara is gonna bring numbers in the smart hybrid variant. Looks complete and slightly better than the Hyryder.
