I was planning to get this done at Young's Detailing Republic in Greater Noida where i live - but am not sold yet. They were formerly a franchise of Detailing Mafia with pretty good reviews and they are charging 24k+GST for ceramic coating with 2 year warranty.

I am also looking at the turtle wax range of products to do it myself - the Graphene Flex spray coat from turtle wax is slated to last for about 9-10 months as per youtube reviews - and can be topped up every 6 months. My cars are parked indoors at all times and have pretty low running - less than 5K per year. I could probably detail all my 5 cars and 2 bikes for half the cost of the ceramic coating from an outside detailer.

Still debating on it...

Re: 10 BMW M and M Sport special editions to launch in India

Admins please don't murder/ban me for this.

What does this Jahre mean? When I heard the name Jahre, all I could think of was "Jaa jahre apne mandirva" by Advaita.

Edit: Feeling rather foolish now- jahre is years

'Jahre' is a German word meaning 'Years'.

This is the M divisions 50th Year, hence the special edition.

Please ask whether the car comes with 360 degree camera. Somehow it seems to be missing from the feature list of all the newer cars citing "chip shortage"
I also believe your car wouldn't have gesture controls or the remote parking key. Although you will feel you will hardly use them - trust me it becomes an integral part of using your car the more time you spend in it.
Having said that - I believe 360 degree camera is a must for a car this size.

Unfortunately the 630i Jahre does not come with any of the features you have mentioned. They are reserved for the 630d. And as far as I understand it's not because of the chip shortage but to create differentiation between 630i and 630d.

I agree that they should have given 360 cam for such a large vehicle.

Re: 10 BMW M and M Sport special editions to launch in India

Hey Guys!
After driving MUVs and SUVs all my life finally decided to get a sedan, and what better sedan than the BMW M340i!
After driving a 2inch lifted Fortuner the M340i definitely needs getting used to especially the 35 profile tyres

Got delivery of my Tanzanite Blue 50th Jahre edition last friday.
Was not a fan of the black kidney grills as well as the style 791 rims at first while seeing in pictures, however one look in person changed my mind.

Much has been said about the car by stalwarts and I do not have anything more to add to that. I am attaching a few pictures of the same.

The only modification or rather change I have done is switched the tyres from runflats to tubeless. Therefore I have a set of brand new runflats with zero on road km (car was flat bedded to the service centre from stockyard) on sale. If anyone is interested do let me know. You can check the tyres here.

Congratulations on buying what is without a doubt the best driving experience under a crore.

The M340i is one hell of a car mostly thanks to the 3.0L Single Turbo 382hp beast lurking under the bonnet. The B58 is one hell of an engine (both out of the box or rather stockyard and when you have it cranked to 11 making stupid WHP numbers like 900BHP+)

And outside the full fat M3 and M4, the M340i comes with the highest spec/output B58 that BMW makes.

Wishing you a happy and fuss free ownership.

Thank you for your kind wishes!

I was sold on the B58 motor, having driven the G05 X5 with the B58 motor albeit in the slightly detuned avatar in the United Stated back in 2019. And had always wanted the same. So, M340i was like a no brainer for me.

Re: 10 BMW M and M Sport special editions to launch in India

Many congrats for the massive upgrade and truly this is one of the best driver's car sold in Indian market today for a relatively reasonable asking price.

The kidney grills in black look truly smashing and would render the car a good street presence.

But one question which lurks in my mind, is it going to be your daily driver and after driving beast of an SUV for so many years how would you cope up with the low slung sedan especially during long trips? I myself own an Audi S5 but it's very tough to use it as a daily driver or for outstation trips and have an Endeavour for that specific purpose.

Wishing you miles and miles of exhilarating ownership experience!

The M340i is an addition to the Garage not a replacement of the Fortuner. The Fortuner will still be my daily drive. However, I do intend on taking it to work once the monsoons are over and have a few road trips planned for it too.

Now my Garage has the best of both worlds, similar to yours
