Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

They really should have taken inspiration for the interiors from their own (Skoda Octavia VRS (Skoda Octavia vRS : Official Review)).

I mean after all, an enthusiast would want red highlights on his/her cockpit not a red cockpit itself.

Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

Exteriors look great with all piano black and no chrome. But the interiors are another story all together. They could have only kept slight red highlights in the dash and doorpads along with red ambiance lighting and red stitching on the seats.

Current over enthusiasm with red looks tacky and aftermarket.

It looks nice. I'd like to have it too, but man that black roof would roast the cabin to hell in the North Indian summer!

Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

I was already disappointed with Kushaq interiors (felt gloomy) but the Monte Carlo version interiors have taken the disappointment to an all new level. I wish Skoda could bring out a model with soothing and lively beige interiors / seats.

Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

So, reactions of majority of the people after looking at the exteriors : " Wow Monte Carlo !!!"
After stepping inside the car : " Ye Car Mat Lo "

Jokes aside, VAG group's 2.0 strategy seems to be working. Taigun, Kushaq and Slavia managed to sell in respectable numbers in April 22. Add Virtus and they will be selling 10k cars per month which is not bad at all.

Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

The Monte Carlo variants in Europe/ Russia look dope. These interiors are cheap and completely out of place. Why would someone pay a premium for this? (OTR in Bangalore is now dangerously close to 25 big ones for this variant). Someone at a senior position in Skoda needs to seriously give this a thought - rather than simply replicating the Global MCs they are trying to reinvent the wheel in India; and they are miserably failing in the process.

Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

I finally got to see the Monté Carlo edition up close today. Had gone to collect my Kushaq after its first service.

This branch of the dealership usually displays the latest offering from Skoda in the waiting lounge and the Slavia had now made way for the Kushaq Monté Carlo edition.

This particular display piece was in white and when viewed from it's side, it wouldn't catch one's eye immediately. A walk around is when you'll notice the blacked out front grills, etc and decide to take closer look.

So I did and the exteriors didn't exactly leave me very impressed. Personally, the images of this edition that I'd seen on the web in the red + black combo weren't anything to rave about either.

Those alloys...IMHO, I feel the alloys on my Style variant look far more elegant.

A quick peak into the interiors made me want to just get my head out ASAP!

Gawd! All that unnecessary red...ugh! Why, Skoda, Why?!?

Perhaps the only element in this interiors that I felt looked classy was this one tiny detail:

Whatever else they've done to this 'select' version makes me wonder how it'll help sell more numbers. A missed opportunity, I would say.

Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

The gentleman at the helm of taking these design decisions at VW/SKODA India needs some immediate briefing regarding the heritage/core design methods of the VW group. This is gibberish for a Skoda Scholar. On a lighter note, a piece of advice to Skoda India!!! Please don't show these interior images to your bosses at Wolfsburg... they may just immediately pull the plug on India operations out of shame.

The first time I saw these red inserts was in Taigun and I was like 'Yuck! '. Little did I know then that I would end up owning a car with one some day

I was equally appalled to see it in the MC version at first but ended up buying one as we liked the look otherwise and went ahead and brought one home. Now I can say that they really aren't that bothersome. Infact, it grows on you and feels quite nice & sporty.

About the alloys, I am not sure which one looks better but I am pretty sure that the Style alloys look equally good and would be much easier to maintain. These black alloys demand quite a bit of attention every now & then. Quite a bit!

Attachment 2316150

One of my friends took delivery of Kushaq MonteCarlo 1.0 AT recently. He has observed that the backlight on the gear selection knob is always lit in white (it stays lit in white even when the gear is slotted in either P,R,N or D without changing the color to red/orange) making it unreadable for him in daylight.
Kushaq MonteCarlo AT owners, could you please let me know if the backlight color changes to red/orange when slotted in any of the gears, in your car? Thanks.

Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

I recently had a rental Skoda Scala Monte Carlo in Germany for 2 weeks and the first thing I noticed was how nicer the interiors were compared to the Kushaq Monte Carlo. All the red elements were minimal and tastefully done. Even the shade of red used was a much nicer one and not so loud.

The car was brilliant to drive. The sweet 1.5 TSI is a joy on German highways and this car had all the ADAS functionality which works quite well there.

Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

Skoda targeting 15% of its customers? Wow. I am sure it will appeal Amitabh Bachchan from this movie. This could have been subtle. Exterior looks great but interior is overdone.

Re: Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo : A Close Look

I wish Skoda could have done some due diligence with the design elements for Kushaq.

They did lose some customers on the polarizing design and color elements on the interior.

Somebody on this thread was damn accurate- Skoda should have called the Monte Carlo Edition as the Eveready edition 'Gimme Red':
