I think we can safely refer to UK specs. C200 = 1496 cc

C200 D = is it even correct?

Agree, which year was that though? I bought my E200 Avant-garde for 55L OTR inclusive of 5 year EW in 2016. ( different matter that I sold a year later for an eye watering 39L !! Reason - severe post purchase dissonance).
Not sure about used car prprices though. My eyes water even more these days when I see the logic defying prices. For example, a 2018 3GT , 35K kms run ( with a then ex showroom, if I remember correctly, of ~42 L ,before discounts) , available today at an asking price of 35 L!!!
What's more, if you check any of the portals for the sell in rate, it's 20-22L. I offered 25 L across the table with a cheque book in hand but the dealer was adamant. And there are many such cases around.

The 1.5L engine isnt so bad IMO. It has an insane turbo that spools up as low as 1000RPM and does pack a punch. I guess it should do a 0-100 less than 8 seconds and performance is close to the diesel 220d. That along with the 9 speed transmission keeps it going since the gearbox has a bucket of ratios to keep the engine in its powerband all the time. Should suit an entry level offering for the C without being too boring. Of course the 300d is in another end of the spectrum for the car. But the diesel shines as the speeds pick up, while the petrol offers outright performance from start.

It was 2013-end, and since I purchased a pre-facelift one, I got a good discount.

MB needs to take some lessons from Hyundai and learn how to assemble cars without rattling issues. I hope they have worked on it. Not to forget the after-sales service which has deteriorated off lately.

All the luxury cars need a reality check. The prices are truly atrocious. But I am not hopeful. Very soon we will see Fortuner costing 80 lakhs and C Class 1.2 crore and still enjoying waiting periods. The same thing can be seen in real estate also. But when you talk about quality, made for India products will always be inferior to the global ones. I think one should plan emigration just to enjoy cars at their actual worth. India is simply not the place.

The prices you've mentioned should be here by 2028-2030 at the rate they are being hiked.

Range starts with C200, C220d & C300d.





Fuel efficiency figures for the new C-Class. The C200 petrol is 29% more fuel efficient than before, while the C220d is 22% more fuel efficient, and the most fuel efficient Mercedes in India.



The 48-volt Integrated Starter Technology is standard across all 3 engine options and offers 15 kW (20 bhp) & 200 Nm of torque.



The New C-Class has grown in proportions. The ground clearance too has gone up by 7 mm.



Will be available in 6 colours
