According to EvoIndia, Land Cruiser LC300’s bookings have been open since February this year, and deliveries expected in August for India. V6 Diesel is the one for which bookings had opened and are now closed.

Meanwhile, the Lexus LX600 is also going to come by the end of this year to India in RHD combination as told to EvoIndia by Lexus India’s president in a private interview. It’s likely to come with the twin turbo V6 petrol.

From what I heard, deliveries of LC300 will be next March. Demo vehicles might come this August or September.

As for the LX600, should be delivered this year.

However both the cars won't be 7 seater anymore and will be 5 seater due to import weight restrictions. Not sure how far that is true.

My family is looking to replace the 6 year old Land Cruiser but the 5 seater news kind of put brakes on the idea.

Rumour: Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 India launch in August

The waiting period for a Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 could extend up to 4 years. But that isn't stopping Toyota from introducing the legendary model in India. Reports suggest that the SUV could arrive at our shores in August this year.



Toyota dealers are said to have been taking bookings for the Land Cruiser LC300 since February. As per the latest reports, bookings have now been halted as a result of the chip shortage.

The Land Cruiser 300 series was unveiled in June last year. The SUV is based on Toyota's TNGA-F platform. The overall weight of the vehicle is said to have been reduced by 200 kg.

The Land Cruiser retains its boxy proportions and features an imposing grille at the front. The SUV features squared-off wheel arches that house 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster and a host of other convenience and safety features.

Globally, Toyota offers the SUV with two engine options: 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine producing 409 BHP and 650 Nm and a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine churning out 304.5 BHP and 700 Nm. In India, we're likely to get the latter. Both engines come paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Hello, just wanted to know if the waiting period in India would also be 4 years. Then who are these lucky folks who would be getting it in August 2022, if it arrives. Maybe they have allocated some "India" quota.
Any hint on the price?
If the waiting period is indeed 3-4 years in India, I would gladly book one and wait. In such time my Alturas would be 5-6 years old and I would be ready for a change if its in my budget range.

I wont be surprised if Toyota considering the price the Fortuner is touching decides to launch this at 2.5 cr ex factory. Also wont be surprised if there is a waiting list for this once this launches at that insane price.

LX & LC are both planned, but none of the dealers, at least here, are willing to take any orders. There are around 60 Toyota dealer principals; I expect about 100 for their use. Similarly, approximately 20-30 LX for Toyota/ Lexus dealers. Whatever is left will go to the politicians/ celebrities and knowns of the dealer principals.

Regular folks who may have monies won't be able to get these anytime in the next 2-to 3 years. It will be tough for Toyota India to get more than 100 Units for 2023.

I guess launch prices for LC will be around 2 Cr plus and LX 3 Cr plus in the fully-loaded trim. The last I heard from some of the knowledgeable people is that they have some difficulties getting the higher-end VIP variant of LX due to certain weight restrictions.

Found some interesting information on the suspension on LC & LX; unlike Air suspension in the past generations, both now use something called - Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) in Toyota parlance. The front gets a double-wishbone suspension. Not sure if this will perform better in our conditions over the Air suspension which is super comfortable and one of the reasons of the sale of this vehicle.

10 lakh booking amount. Estimated on-road price ₹3 crore

Deliveries start Jan 2023. Only 5-seater & the 4-seater Ultra Luxury pack

3.5-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 puts out 409bhp. Mated to 10-speed auto. No hybrid & no diesel.

Land Cruiser LC300 will launch in Sept, deliveries in Oct. And expected ex-showroom price will be just under the ₹2 crore barrier.

Bargain for a petrol bunk free of cost or get an apartment close to a petrol punk dispensing 97 RON and above because you may need to visit a petrol bunk on almost a daily basis. It would have guzzled 2 liters of fuel by the time you get it out of your parking lot on to the road.

The legendary Toyota Land Cruiser is my favourite full size SUV. The timeless design language, imposing stance and the tank like build have stood the test of time. Unfortunately, given the tax structure here in India, it will out of the reach for most of us. Additionally, the ever increasing cost of fuel coupled with an expected single digit fuel economy figure will pinch the pockets (even deep pockets) of the select few.

In any case, I hope to see the latest avatar of the Toyota LC on the Indian roads. Congratulations and best of luck to Toyota India for the impending launch!

I am 100% sure whenever Lexus/ Toyota does open the booking, they will do it officially via the website or social media directly.

Great that they are actually launching the LC300 in India. I thought the consensus was that India would only be getting the LX600 for this generation. Infact in the US, only the Lexus version is sold now as the Land Cruiser has been taken out of the shelves.

Looks like no surprises in how Toyota/ Lexus is pricing these vehicles. Still, one should really want these vehicles to pay Rs. 2 to 3+ cr. I assume the LC300 will be a ZX (Japan) or Sahara ZX (Australia) trim or better and the LX600 a Luxury or an Ultra Luxury trim. I am thinking whoever can afford a LC300 can possibly go for a LX600 - so who is the target buyer for the LC300?
