Bootspace even with all 3 rows up looks very good:

How can 3 persons sit in the last row? It is very clear that the third headrest has been slapped as an afterthought. If they really want to seat 3 adults, they should have provided 40:60 split.

This looks like the perfect CRV for India which Honda could never launch. Really have to appreciate Toyota for changing the game and fortifying it’s position right since the original Innova. Some of the calls they took over the past 2 decades were counter intuitive to the what others were doing but paid off huge time. Everyone tried to launch cheaper cars for India by stripping features and smaller engines but they have been doing exactly opposite.

Made an online booking for the VX 8 seater variant right now. Paid Rs. 50,000/- as the booking amount. Why are dealers asking for 1 lakh as the booking amount?

Its pretty comfortable for 3 medium built adults and not for 3 80kg 5'10 people. Its the same positioning in the current gen as well. The advantage is (from what i understand) that the 3rd row now fold flats generating more space. The side way up for the Crysta isnt the most convenient.

The middle headrest, when not in use is stowed away and when you need to use, just put it. On our 2.8Z, we keep it removed most of the times.

Those wheels looks like Hycross seriously missed the ‘Leg Days’ :). It’s looks puny for such a big car.

Surely Toyota going to beat everyone’s expectations in pricing (not in a good way) and ‘double surely’ the waiting periods are only going to mount up.

This is exactly how it is in the existing Innova Crysta as well, with a place to keep the headrest to the side of the bootspace when not in use to not hinder the rear view for the driver. The seatbelt for the middle passenger is roof-mounted and comes with two buckles to make it a proper three-point seatbelt. It can fit three, but will be a squeeze depending on the size of the individuals.

It is split 50:50 on the older Innovas (and Fortuners for that matter) as they were BOF and the seats wouldn't fold flat into the floor, but rather folded up to the sides. I'm guessing they carried it forward despite this car being monocoque.

What is with manufacturers doing only the unveil and no pricing? This game is never going to help end customer make a decision or weight trade-offs with competition. This seller's market is only taking us for granted worse by the day !! :Frustrati

I can't imagine how it will feel when you sit right on the split line. Seat belt buckles on either side seem too close as well. May be I need to check it in person.

Again only 7 seater in top variant. Same old conundrum of bench seat vs features. All the new features are in ZX or ZX(o) variants. Buying lower variants will provide nothing new to existing Crysta owners like me. This variant spread has turned it from a must buy to a maybe.

Looks like there will not be Innova Crysta, found this on the Toyota Bharath website where it has Innova Crysta picture with Innova Hycross name. Update in progress I think.

-1 to the variant spread. No Bench seat in top end. No 4/6 Airbags in Mid variant. Atleast these could have been provided. I am ok with sunroof not being there.
On a related note just see the variant spread for XUV700 AX5 and AX7 - much more sensible.

Variant spread doesn't look good. I can't get 6 airbag without going for ZX. I can't get sunroof and bench seat together.

Unlike the G variant getting the Hybrid powertrain in Indonesia, the HyCross gets only the gasoline engine in the GX trim, no hybrid.

So hybrid is available VX trim onwards.

The GX Trim (Note: Manual AC for GX trim in India):
