All good except torsion beam rear, if that's what it has. For a large three row six/seven seater anything but torsion beam. This is just personal preference and 99.9999% customers wouldn't mind.

Toyota has just released the Toyota Innova Zenix. The car now comes with a fresher design, a new platform, and a new hybrid engine.

All-new 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix makes world debut; 2.0L NA & hybrid, TNGA platform.

The design is now more dashing, with the headlights using projector LEDs, while the LED DRL moves on the side of the bumper, plus a small fog lamp at the bottom.

For Q-type rims, it uses a 18-inch gunmetal finishing 5-double spoke crossbar model rim, wrapped in Dunlop SP Sport Maxx size 225/50 R18 tires.

While the new rear design actually reminds us of the Toyota Rush, especially when looking at the stoplamp. As well as embedded sweetening elements such as spoilers, and chrome accents on the rear grille.

the cabin at a glance, it feels more premium because almost all parts are soft touch, both the dashboard, and the doortrim. Then the Voxy nuance is also thick in Zenix starting from the design of the steering wheel and speedometer.

in the middle will find features such as physical button digital air conditioning, electric parking brake, along with the hold function. EV mode, and driving mode, even traction control off.

The panoramic size of the sunroof is also very large, decorated with ambient lights. Don't forget that now the rear AC grille is on the side, so that the sunroof can be installed.

the Innova Hybrid is likely to be priced at IDR 400 million to IDR 625 million. The lowest price of the Innova Hybrid variant is rumored to be around Rp. 455 million for the G AT HV type.

For the color variants, there will be 5 choices, namely Black, Grey, Silver, White pearl and Dark Steel.

As before, there's air-conditioning for the second- and last-row passengers. Row 2 is interesting; it keeps the 'captain seats' arrangement of the old car, but with the addition of a footrest, and a flexible table-cum-cupholder in the middle. Those, plus screens poking out of the front seatbacks, are something new.

Along with that comes a set of new engines. A 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated Dynamic Force takes centre stage for every variant, while two electric motors are tacked on to that for the Hybrid variant. No more 6-speed automatic nor a manual this time; expectedly they're all using CVT automatics now.

On the safety front, the Innova Zenix joins the (newer) crop of its stablemates by bundling the Toyota Safety Sense suite of ADAS. A 360-cam also makes its way into the model.

And new is everything under the skin. Out goes the old rear-wheel drive (RWD), ladder-frame recipe, and in comes the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) unibody chassis, as well as a front-wheel drive (FWD) drivetrain.

Brilliant product all in all. Around ~40 OTR in Bangalore would be incredible VFM. People are going to love it !

The elusive rear looks pretty decent for the size, bit more Toyota Highlander-ish rear curve would have completed it IMO.

It might eat up Kia carnival for lunch and also Fortuner for dinner .

Is it just me or does the rear have a striking resemblance to the New Maruti Brezza? Also, the alloys look strikingly similar to the one present on the HTX variant of the KIA Seltos.

Overall the design looks fresh and will sell in good numbers.

Based on the pics from the Indonesian unveiling it looks more in the leagues of WRV, Ertiga/X6 league or Alcazar/Kia level than a full fledged Innova. I am strictly referring to the dimensions only. If indeed this turns out to be true then one can only hope that Toyota prices this at par with Crysta rather than above it. It definitely will be a smaller 6/7 seater than Crysta but maybe Toyota is making up on that anomaly by making sure this is fully loaded with features.

How do the current Crysta owners feel about the car?
As a 2022 Crysta owner, I am impressed but still think Crysta Zx D was a wiser decision.
Overall the looks have improved slightly. But nothing drastic if you don't care about sunroof or fancy features. The current Zx alloys were better looking I feel.
If are are some one who care more about core mechanicals this may be a step down. But if you love feature rich cars, this should be the best car to put your money on in 30-42L range.
