Performance is never a Maruti forte. They could very well introduce a turbo engine which will not only be well with in all the tax limitations, but also will be more performance oriented than a 1.5 L engine. There is big BUT in this case, the fuel efficiency will not be as good as a 1.5L, hence Maruti's customer base won't be satisfied. So considering all this, a 1.5L may work for the Maruti customer base in India.

Re: Maruti builds Baleno 1.5L, but only for exports

Having done Brio 1.5 swap (both hard way and easy way) and now with ecu tools and softwares at my disposal, I have now reasonable experience to easily do K15 swap on a Swift/Baleno/Fronx without much spend.

Will i do it? No - because 1.0 Turbo already offers better performance overall.

I would rather do a K14 Turbo swap for which I am gathering intelligence. I find it easier to work on a good Suzuki projects due to easy spare availability unlike other brands.
