Honda management - please get a new plan for India and try to bring new models with new technologies to the Indian market. Honda is now a one trick pony with its Honda City. This isn't going to continue for long and you can't let the company hanging with just one product. Even a kid will tell you to develop a Creta rival SUV to increase market share. Also bring back the latest gen CRV with a sensible price tag. If you still don't know what to do, just study some of your competitors and their products or just open Team-BHP for free advice.

Is he a mergers and acquisitions specialist?

You forgot Amaze. They sold 5K+ units last month.

Honda needs a compact SUV with CVT option, small SUV to compete with Creta/Seltos, 7 seater small MUV, CRV, Civic/Accord.

Sorry. That makes it one and a half trick pony!

He was here from 1997 to 2000 as per the reports and that was when Honda entered the Indian market. I hope he isn't appointed to oversee the exit operations now. But, I really do hope something positive happens this year.

I agree with you on the exit plan. Somehow I have a feeling that Honda will exit the Indian market in next 2-3 years.
I still remember Honda providing ABS and Airbags as standard even in their base models. This was I guess back in 2010. There was some premiumness around the brand which they diluted by trying to compete with the likes of Maruti and Hyundai.
Civic, Accord and even CRV were well received products in the Indian market till 2014-2015.
I so wish that the company stays and comes up with completely different approach to our market. I would like to see Honda with products having more margins that sell low but cater to a niche market of their loyal customers.
I say this because I have extensively driven both the old Jazz, City (2009 onwards) and the new ones. And I absolutely love the old ones.

Odyssey, Passport, Pilot, Ridgeline ... with all these cars selling well abroad, Honda still remains a one trick pony in India. So sad!

Honda needs new-age products to compete; not just new people every 4 years. Not sure how long will they continue to operate on the City's success
