Oh ok, my bad that I missed it out.

They could have provided the 360 degree camera and fixed the software lag in the infotainment system something that is needed asap.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

While the features do look attractive, the Harrier Kaziranga edition costs 46,500 more than XZ+ DT, which I feel is on the higher side.

Any idea how much the price of Safari XZ+ DT was increased when it got the ventilated seats?

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

It's quite interesting to note that Tata has 5 different colours of leather upholstery and 6 variations just for the front seats of the Harrier/Safari

Harrier:
- Benecke Kaliko Oak Brown

Safari:
- Benecke Kaliko Oyster White
- Diamond-Quilted Benecke Kaliko Oyster White
- Benecke Kaliko Earthy Brown

Common to Both:
- Benecke Kaliko Dual-tone Earthy Beige and Granite Black with Rhino Mascot
- Benecke Kaliko Blackstone with Deep Blue Tri-arrow perforations

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

The metallic beige shade coupled with dual tone black is just too seductive. I was on the lookout for a new car for a long time and was actually interested in Carens but ultimately the 5 star GNCAP rating and ventilated seats was too hard to ignore. Booked Nexon Kaziranga Petrol AMT immediately after the prices were announced.

Please do post a review. One of my close relative is in the market for CSUV. He was sold on Venue & then saw Nexon Kaziranga edition which put spanner in the Venue plans.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

Fantastic sales planning by Tata Motors, first Dark edition and now Kaziranga.. they are successful in bringing attention to the brand, their lineup and USPs like safety, build and handling. We as Ford owners, happy to get these options from Tata and Mahindra.
Secondly, Tata is providing choices in all SUV segments so that both for new buyers and those who are considering upgrade, they will have options within the brand. This is very well thought. Only segment to target is Creta/Seltos with a peppy petrol engine. Hope they are listening.

Lovely shade. All of them look stunning, including the Punch

Wish they had got an AWD setup to go with the messaging, at least Harrier and Safari

Is the messaging, 'lets explore the wild Kaziranga' or 'let's SAVE the wild at Kaziranga'? Both are different, you see

Neither

As per the official website, this is the messaging:

Quote:
The New Kaziranga Edition from Tata Motors is built for the outdoors & inspired by India’s rich geography and bio diversity. It also pays homage to India’s great national parks & their rich heritage. With the symbol of Kaziranga-The Great Indian One horned Rhino, known worldwide for their agility and power, this range reinforces the “Go-Anywhere” DNA of our true SUVs.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

I never liked the rear look of the Nexon, the combination of the X-shaped section and the rear lamps.

However, the Kaziranga edition of Nexon has the best look of the rear portion. The X-shape is now subtle. Also, the belt line below the window now matches the car.

Now Nexon is a really charming C-SUV.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

Name - Kaziranga edition sounds cool. May be Good Marketing by Tata team to introduce new colours and features in the lineup.

I am curious to know what will happen to these special edition cars after 10years.
1. Low/High Resale ?
2. Repainting outside would be possible? Shade matching and shade availability?
3. Will the uniquely added features/their spare parts be still available after 10 years?

Somehow I feel like it should not turn out to be just a marketing strategy used to make people feel exclusive temporarily and make acquisitive consumers take impulsive decision.

Nothing against Tata Motors or any other company. Because many have sold limited, allure, alive, anniversary, bedrock and what-not editions earlier.

2. In today's technological world, colour matching is not at all an issue, just like the colour matching which is done on a computer, the same is done by many reputed paint manufacturers. And in any case, colours are made by mixing itself, so it shouldn't be too difficult to recreate a particular shade.

1. After 5 years, the resale generally depends more on the condition of the car and components rather than the "limited edition" nature of the car when new. So resale value will be the same as a non limited edition version. The limited edition value is anyways only for the person buying it new, not for the person buying it second hand.

3. Generally the uniquely added parts are parts that have too high a costing to be able to put in the standard variants of the vehicle today, but as the economies of scale grow, most of these parts do start appearing in the standard variants a couple of cycles down the line. So spares availability should not be an issue.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

Hey it's not a sticker job like Maruti provides us. I'd call that a temporary acquisition strategy. If you take the Nexon you get cooled seats, some fantastic light brown colours inside, fabulous black tone roof, auto IRVM, blacked alloys, etc which a user will enjoy (as features). This is no gimmick

Great question.

I would worry about it more if I was buying a special edition car with a body kit (like TRD variants of Toyota, or an Abarth with lowered suspension and a different drive train, Baleno Turbo which had different bumpers). Sourcing the special low volume parts can make you feel shortchanged as in many cases they are priced exorbitantly higher than the regular variant.

In this case, the exterior and power train is exactly the same as the regular variants. Unless you’ve torn a seat, deployed the airbags or lost a rhino badge or two, I don’t think there will be a need to source the Kaziranga specific parts in the long run.
