Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

As a recent Harrier top end buyer (bought one last month) I feel cheated . A Nexon buyer will have ventilated seats, air purifer, wireless Android Auto, and wireless charging, while I will be without them even after paying nearly double compared to a standard Nexon's top end. These features are pretty much expected in a car costing 22+ Lakhs on road.

That just doesn't feel fair, more so when I had enquired if any new variants or editions with these features are about to be launched and I was told No. I think many other in my position would also feel the same way - Tata probably will take a hit on good will post decisions like this.

It would have been fine if they had launched new editions with cosmetic changes only without these additional creature comforts - at-least the recent buyers wouldn't feel shortchanged. And what about those who want all these features but don't want this colour? Can't see any rationale to limit these features to special edition.

That said, I appreciate the efforts of Tata Motors to bring out these new editions to maximize product and reinforcing the adventure perception with their SUVs. Logically speaking, it also makes more sense since Mahindra has oriented themselves towards more of a luxury orientation with the exception of Thar

P.S: Having vented out my disappointment, I would clarify that I am happy with the car. It has been a joy to drive, and barring minor bugs 2 times in infotainment, haven't faced any issues in the car.

I share your frustration, got my Nexon delivered on Jan 5. I’m missing out on ventilated seats, air purifier and auto dimming IRVM. (Can these be retrofitted btw?)

Also, going by Tata’s track record for the Safari, these features will be made available soon in the standard variants as well (Ventilated seats first came only with Gold edition, now they’re also present in standard edition).

They’re testing Nexon EV long range with rear disc brakes, I suspect that will also come down to IC engine variant at a later stage, and a lot of us will be disappointed again.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

The actual paint colour looks like a dull washed-out version of the advertised colour, some small variation is OK but this is extreme to the extent that is NOWHERE close to the actual colour.

I'd rather it should be that "Any person buying Nike shoes can use them to run a marathon" , especially when they're designed for marathons and their branding indicates as such.

Reminds me of an Australian FIAT Grand Cherokee owner who got a lemon and part of his complaint was that car incapable of anything that its advt showed - because in the TV Advts it was shown climbing up on mountains, off road while it had to be mended at the workshop everytime it hit a pothole causing the wheel alignment go off.

As far as the branding goes, I am seeing folks excited about the new Paint scheme and badging! So the strategy seems to be working one way or the other.
Thats where all this discussion becomes moot. Because as long as businesses find willing buyers, nothing else matters.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

What Tata needs badly is the Nexon Diesel Auto in TC avatar. This will be a game changer. Otherwise it's just adding/deleting features. Another point; The front grill on the Harrier looks good and the same design will suit Nexon

What it truly needs is a facelift.
Seeing the same stale model and design from the umpteen number (6!!) of years is truly sickening.

A facelift is really due for the Nexon and with Pratap Bose moving out, lord alone knows what monstrosity they'd be churning out next. Back to the Indica/Indigo days, seems like

Did you miss the complete facelift they did in 2020 with new front end including sheet metal changes?

Nexon still looks quite contemporary in the segment.

What it needs is a good auto box and not the rubbish AMT units.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

Seems Tata wants their car brands to be associated with ruggedness and strong build. Maybe it's something thats meant to address concerns about NCAP safety ratings ?

Anyway, let's see how their advertorials play out.

Yes, hope they do away with the big X on the rear-hatch of Nexon.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

From the official Tata Nexon Kaziranga brochure , it is mentioned as "Nexon Kaziranga is available in XZ+(P) and XZA+(P)". Does (P) here stands for petrol ?
Because prices of both Petrol and Diesel is available in official website.

Re: Tata SUVs to get Kaziranga Edition

Ok first of all - that is a FANTASTIC video! And as a marketing campaign - it is a solid story. The next important bit is the 'family'ification - These 4 cars actually look like brothers, sort of what Bajaj did with the Pulsar series - 150,180,200,220. Im sure the Aura of the Safari and Harrier definitely the rubs off the Nexon and Punch - esp the Punch.

Advertisements serve to exaggerate and gloss over shortcomings. After seeing the ad, the sceptic in me has completely forgotten the weak engine in punch, or the niggles or the biggest elephant in the room that these are all front wheel drive 'cars' and not 'SUVs'. After Safari's reclaim your life, this one has has gotten me interested in what TaMo can do.

I don't understand why the auto dimming IRVM is not provided in the Harrier

Harrier already has that feature. Since it's new for Nexon it has been mentioned explicitly.
