According to a media report, BMW might be gearing up to introduce the G82 BMW M4 in India. It is said that official bookings might open later this month.



The second-generation BMW M4 made its global debut last year. It is based on the 4 Series coupe and features the controversial large kidney grille at the front. The coupe also gets aggressive front and rear bumpers, slim LED taillights and quad exhausts with a sporty diffuser.



The interior of the second-gen M4 is based on the G22 4 Series. It features a large touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a digital instrument cluster.



Under the bonnet is a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine that produces 473 BHP and 550 Nm. The M4 Competition packs 503 BHP and 650 Nm. The car is available with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the previous gen, the new model comes with an optional all-wheel-drive system as well.

For a long time I tried liking these grilles but isn't happening. I guess some things just don't grown upon you.

Really polarizing beaver teeth grille that BMW refuses to acknowledge but thankfully people have already taken it upon themselves and this $900 upwards solution by Vorsteiner looks sweet!

The BMW M4 Competition is coming with all-wheel drive. Under the hood is a 3-litre twin-turbo in-line six producing 503bhp and 650Nm.

Estimated pricing of Rs 1.5 crore.

Yes, the bookings will open soon. We will be getting the M- Competition X-Drive variant. Since the M5 is now touching almost 2, they can place this around 1,40-1,45 Cr. I don't think they will go any higher as one of the reasons of relative less success on the M3/ M4 previously was higher prices.

The interiors on the new one are absolutely gorgeous and X-drive also helps in daily usage.

Kindly excuse my poor editing skills (did it on paint) but the smaller the grill the better the beemer looks.
I think aftermarket modifiers should concentrate on smaller grill sans the bucktooth, rather than modifying with the beaver look.

I think they should follow the M340i like aggressive pricing CKD route and there will be many takers. And why not M3 which is more practical?

PS: I don't see the grill offensive, in fact the headlights are even better than regular 3. Then as they say, the design is polarising

BMW 330i M Sport is priced @ INR 51L Ex-Showroom (Aprox)

BMW X3 30i M Sport is priced @ INR 66L Ex-Showroom (Aprox)

^ Indicating the SUV having a premium positioning due to its practicality and space.

Now let's talk about their M Versions;

X3M (CBU) Was available for INR 99L Ex-Showroom

M4 (CBU) launched @ INR 1.43 Cr. Ex-Showroom

Other than the fact that M4 is Competition can't understand an almost 40% delta in pricing between X3M & M4 Competition

I am sure there will be justifications such as loadings, customisability etc. But overall this almost makes the Good-Looking M5 Competition LCI priced @ INR 1.62L a better buy.

M cars of this generation have moved to ZF torque Converter Units and BMW India's spec sheet mentions "M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic"

OT, What are these cross black rods in the engine bay. I saw it in the 330i Sport and A4 I test drove recently. I havent seen then in the regular commuter cars.

These are struts for torsional rigidity. In simpler terms, these increase chassis stiffness for high speed cornering.

They are definitely not present in the 330i Sport, although I believe you can fit one for increased rigidity.
