The car certainly looks lot smarter now! The more conventional look from the front should certainly help its case. But the styling was never its biggest problem anyway. It's the high price and sparse dealership network while being an unknown brand name is why people stay away from this car. None of that is going to change in a hurry. So can't expect even the facelift to do any better in terms of sales numbers.

Looks great. if its more spacious than a compass for the rear passengers then it makes a pretty strong case for itself with a great suspension (which normally Citroen is good at) and a better automatic.

* on the massaging seats * it has been a standard pack on Citroen cars in Europe right from C4 Grand Picasso / Space tourer (the 5+2 seat version) and C5 for some time. My 2014 C4 Grand Picasso had the massaging front seats as well. It's a great option to have as at least in Europe the massaging + ventilation pack also consisted of an extendable calf extension to the front passenger seat making the front passenger seat a truly business class seat.

On a side note, not sure why Citroen doesn't bring in the C4 Space tourer to India. It is placed slightly lower than the C5 in their lineup which means it will should be a competitor to the Safari / XUV700 price wise. Though it is more a MUV shape but is a pretty versatile option with its 5+2 seating.

Rather than bringing the facelift, they could sensibly think of correcting the prices of the existing model and target to expand the dealership and service networks, so people will atleast be aware of Citroen's existence in the country

I get your point but Citroen India may not have had any choice. Unlike Made-for-India vehicle, the C5 is a global vehicle with relatively minor tweaks for India. Once the supply chain starts providing the facelift kits, every Citroen assembly operation will have to change to them.

There is simply no option not to introduce the facelift in a particular country.

To feature facelifted front and rear fascia's alongside redesigned interior.

Comes with a larger 10-inch touchscreen with integrated AC controls.

Advanced comfort suspension and seats will be offered as before.

Will be powered by the same 177PS, 2-litre diesel engine, mated to 8-speed auto box

it will be a pricier offering with a better equipment package, costing between Rs 37 lakh and Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).

37-40 Lakh ex-showroom is the exact price at which the Regular Fortuner 4X2 AT and 4X4 AT Diesels retail at, of course until Toyota plans to hike the prices again.

The last I heard is, Citroen offering 3-4L discount before negotiation for moving the product off the floor!! Significant price bump will be an interesting thing to watch!

I like it but with the new Tucson offering AWD, a very competent diesel engine and gearbox along with a cooled seats, 360 camera etc, I don’t know if it will make much sense to buy one
