re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

My vote to XUV 700

I think the powertrains provided, ADAS technology, panaromic sunroof, flat wheel steering, leg space for 5 seat variant and spot on pricing, I think this is the best launch of this year.

Kiger should be the COTY. Kiger's well priced and doesn't cut corners where it matters by using a good traditional CVT gearbox and not an AMT. It even gets a 4**** safety rating and given that the cheaper Triber scored 4**** it reinforces Nissan-Renault's stand on safety and in particular safety of the Indian spec.

CVT + petrol + compact dimensions and pricing that undercuts the Sonets, Kushaqs, etc makes it the optimal urban commuter and if not for the Renault-Nissan "badge" it should be setting charts on fire.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

I will vote for XUV700 in this lot for sure. Yes, a few bits like the placement & design of the logo, flush-type door handles, and a few other design elements are not likable by everyone. But the effort M&M put into this car truly deserves some love.

As a package, this car is a blast, 200hp power under 20Lakhs!! Just wow. after the launch of this car, all of a sudden it feels like the cars in the same/ above segments are unnecessarily expansive. Well done M&M.

This poll is such a clean sweep sort of a thing. Kudos to Mahindra for bringing such a product. I really wish they get their production issues sorted out and eliminate those obscene delivery times.

My vote: Mahindra XUV 7 doubleO

Gurkha gets my vote simply because its the only vehicle that is made out of pure heart and no spreadsheets.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

Quite an interesting year.

When the Safari was launched I was quite sure my vote was already a done deal.

Then came the issues with safety, a few key missing features which were later added to the GOLD editions only to be just blown away by the XUV7OO.

I am still not a fan of the looks but that looks a fair compromise given what else XUV7OO has to offer.

I have to take a decision only in 2023, and unless there is a facelifted version of the Safari which resolves the key issues I would vote with my wallet also for the XUV7OO.

My vote definitely goes to the Mahindra XUV700. Mahindra really pulled off a great product along with great pricing. The XUV is hard to beat because they've really done it all with the car in every department.

I can't vote, but xuv700 looks like a a winner already.
The irony is that this group on one hand advises to avoid Tata/Mahindra cars for the first 2-3 years of their launch and then puts them on top of this poll.

I voted for XUV700. This is a great SUV, an all rounder. Best safety rating, good overall design, reliable and awesome tech.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

Having the 2021 Safari at home, my vote would still go for the Mahindra XUV 700, it deserves the hype and the reception it received. This car made us look at Mahindra from an altogether different perspective.

Mahindra was known for making good cars that could take some serious abuse, but with bare bone interiors and with lots of ergonomic issues, they took care of both these things in the XUV700. The other aspects like Ride and Handling were always overlooked by them. But this time they really went into it and it shows in the XUV 700 and the way in which it drives similarly to a hatchback. The engines are awesome too.
In the area of Features, the list of features it has is comparable to its rivals and unexpectedly to the cars above its segments.

Last but not the least, the sole reason it gets my vote is because of one single safety feature-ADAS.

Off-topic: Always loved the Scorpio(some of the love for it is natural to me because of its massive presence in my home state-Bihar ), now the XUV 700 is my third favourite from Mahindra's stable as the second will always be the Thar.
I can already see myself voting for the Scorpio in the Team-BHP Car of the year 2022.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

I voted for the XUV700. Something that is a car of the year has to either create a new category or move the needle quite significantly in its category. None of the other cars accomplish this... on an absolute scale. The XUV700 is a great leap forward from the previous generation and a step ahead of all the competition in the class. As a comparison, Tata Safari, a better looking car for sure, trails the peer group in terms of features. The XUV700 has so many variants... appeals to a wide variety of tastes.

I haven't voted but maybe we should restrict the list of cars to the ones that you can actually buy this year or in the next year. If I book an XUV700 now, my grandkids will probably be able to take its delivery. Please note that I am yet to have kids.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

Voted for the XUV700 as it ticks all the boxes that the parameters are for choosing the Team-BHP COTY. Overall nice package but still niggles and issues will be there however with one facelift I guess most of the issues would get sorted.

Thumbs Up to Mahindra in this case.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2021 | EDIT, it's the Mahindra XUV700

My Vote Goes for the XUV700.
Fantastic product with features loaded to satisfy any modern man plus the engine ratings is good enough and option of A/T and M/T in both diesel and petrol is a welcome move . Although many niggles and issues are cropping up but its mostly limited to something that a future software update can resolve. Many people in my hearsay are already praising this car inspite of many of them not even seeing the car in person, shows the brand recall the ‘XUV’ badge has. Road presence especially in the blue colour of the TD vehicles doing rounds in my city is terrific(The blue Colour is a hit or miss). Hope the prospective owners get their cars as soon as possible
