That crystal blue color is really going to stand out on the road. Although the proportions make this car seem more like a stretched Fabia than a stand-alone compact sedan on a proprietary platform.
However, with a 1.5 under its hood, it's going to be a city vtec killer. Let's see does Skoda sell more of this or the kushaq.

Very much excited to see the car on the road. And in that electric blue color looks stunning. After the THAR this car will pull the heartstrings for many enthusiasts.

It's a relief seeing a competitive sedan in the market full of crossovers, and I feel that sedans like Slavia with a better ground clearance should make a comeback in the market.

One reason is that both the Slavia & the Virtus have unusually high bootlines. Extending the rear bumper even more will make the rear profile much too boxy. One alternative is to anyway extend it and black out the middle part in a 'diffuser' style.

Applying a blackish 3M underbody coating on the fuel tank will do the trick.

Pricing/Reliability point of view in terms of automatic, I feel the 1.0 might end up selling in higher volume compared to 1.5.

I'm assuming the 1.5 DSG issues that have been brought up on Kushaq thread (in terms of long term reliability) will be applicable here as well? 1.5 should definitely be more expensive than top of the line City.

That said, the car is going to be a looker in person. I hope they don't start cutting features post the initial lot due to chip shortages (the way they did in Kushaq)

So got a call from my dealer asking if he can allocate the car to me. I had made the booking on the 1st day itself. He isnt ready to tell when deliveries will start but he did mention there are some cars allotted to his dealership and hence he wants confirmation from me on color and variant to allot the car.

How does this process work? What happens after this "allotment"? He was talking directly of delivery but i had to ask him to first give test drive and then allow me for a PDI. Regarding PDI, he said car will have to be driven to showroom and back to service center and if i was ok with it? Isnt that normal? Is it for people who want 0 km reading on their cars?

Been to HSR Skoda showroom today. They have blue and carbon steel color Slavia on Display.

Some observations.

1. The seat cover look and feel aftermarket. Didn't like 2 tone seat cover. Quality is similar to Kushaq one and looked better than Kushaq's seat color.
2. The roof liner is beige and of better quality than Kushaq.
3. Didn't like the instrument cluster. Would prefer VW classic analog dials over this.
4. Boot is big. Verified Kushaq and Slavia boot back to back and Slavia has 1.5 time bigger boot. But the materials used and finishing is not upto the mark. Compare Octavia and Slavia boot linings and you'll feel the huge difference. Pics attached below.
5. Rear seat is very spacious for 2 adults with liberal knee room. Under thigh support is good.
6. Tyre is 205/55 R16 ceat secureDrive. Alloy is beautiful.
7. Door closing sound and heft comparable to Kushaq. But Octavia's door feels more heavy.
8. Steering is tilt/telescopic and has good range. You'll find good driving position quickly. Seat height range is also good.
9. Couldn't find much improvement in quality over Kushaq. Almost both have similar quality materials and fit/finish.
10. Had high expectations on Carbon steel color exterior look. But it looked average to me. Still confused which color suits best on Slavia.
