re: 4th-Gen Hyundai Tucson spotted testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 27.70 lakh

My SA at Hyundai Advaith says they haven’t got any formal communication from Hyundai for 13th July unveil . If it’s actually getting unveiled on 13th July then probably we might see some teasers from Hyundai this week!!

Exactly same! I was checking with the SA here in Gurgaon and he categorically mentioned that the 13th July date is a media quoted date. They, at least, haven’t received any such information from the company.

Fingers crossed and hoping that the launch is not further pushed down. In general there has been some what radio silence on this car from Hyundai. 2 weeks prior to the Venue launch there was so much info available with the dealers and in general. Quite the opposite this time!

Hello Everyone,

A big thank you to the moderators who accepted my request to join this wonderful community.Looking forward to interacting with all forum members.

Recently I was on a business trip to Australia I got a chance to visit the near by Hyundai showroom to have a look at Tucson 4th generation. The SUV looks bold & beautiful just like Tata Harrier but the height is low. Here are some of picture which I took from the showroom.

Also I’m very much interested to upgrade from 7 years old Elite i20 diesel to Tucson 4th Gen. if priced below 35 lakh on road chennai !

According to sources I trust, July 13 is indeed the launch date. That said, since Hyundai hasn't officially announced it, they do have the leeway to postpone it, though I doubt they'll do that.

Hyundai sells Tucson Petrol 1.6 Turbo 4WD in Nepal https://clicktobuy.laxmihyundai.com/...d-petrol-turbo

Given Tucson sold in Nepal are manufactured in India, Hyundai should launch this in India also.

Thank you! This is terrific news for those of us in the Delhi/NCR! I sincerely hope your assessment is right. Oddly, the Laxmi Hyundai (Nepal) brochure (which I had checked previously too) continues to say HTRAC only in Diesel, but the price list clearly gives prices for AWD petrol version. The brochure is old, may be.

Did you book the current model which was discontinued recently or the upcoming new generation 2022 model?
What was the booking amount?
I suspect this booking was endorsed by the dealer but not by Hyundai as the variants list is not even available yet. In other words, it is an unofficial booking - can you confirm please? Thanks

re: 4th-Gen Hyundai Tucson spotted testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 27.70 lakh

No one knows the variant details or the color options. I guess your booking is of current Tucson. I have contacted many dealers and none of them know any details regarding New Tucson. All dealers answer is same,

Sir, Launch of New Tucson is expected in July/August period.

So, i will take the above email with a spoon full of salt.

Booking was for the new model. Paid 25k. Maybe the system took it as booking for old model. Either ways looks like there is a delay.

re: 4th-Gen Hyundai Tucson spotted testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 27.70 lakh

Booking delayed for a car which is not even revealed officially forget about official booking underway!!

The above mail seems to be a standard mail these days, though surprising that dealer first took a booking he should ideally have not, second he punched in older model, thirdly he has sent a mail to customer about delay when Hyundai has not even launched the car yet. Best way to earn interest on some one else money!

Yes this is correct. It’s common practice during unofficial dealer level pre-bookings to make it in the name of either the outgoing car or another model altogether in cases of new name launches. Once the manufacturer opens bookings officially, the dealer will change the model/variant appropriately in that booking.

For example, I remember reading on Team-BHP itself that the Toyota Hyryder’s unofficial bookings were being made by dealers under the Innova name.

re: 4th-Gen Hyundai Tucson spotted testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 27.70 lakh

It is absolutely common for dealers to book under an existing brand code name. I personally booked Hyryder on a different code.

However, you will have to ensure your SA updates the booking timely. I am still chasing my SA to send me updated booking details. If we book early, ideally we should be given preference when booking opens.

Each dealer has their own systems, where they eventually update the booking. For instance, even if you book online (Post Official booking opens), the dealer still has to update it on their systems.

I am also looking forward to Tucson launch. Although its slightly out of my budget range and Petrol FE would be bad (NCR can't buy Diesel) but Tucson facelift has always been on my wishlist.
