This system works like a second layer of safety mechanism in the event primary braking mechanism (Driver Himself) fails. |
Can such collision mitigation system which is now-a-days part of ADAS Level 2.0 effective in the scenario where the car is running at 160 km/h?
Last night in Ahmedabad, an accident involving a Thar and a dumper had taken place at the site earlier and a crowd had gathered at the site. An over speeding Jaguar (160 km/h) rammed into that crowd, killing 9 people. This happened past midnight around 1:30 AM. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...8.cms?from=mdr
Clear example of uncivilized driving. Unless technology is caught up to the standards where it can detect a potential front end collision at such high speeds, these unfortunate incidents are inevitable. |
