You mean MH, SL500 - been for sale for past two years

I thought dealers like cars to move fast to avoid high inventory costs. A car costs money to keep and loses value and desirability and the clock ticks by

Me not understand that guy - most cars have been there for "yonks"

The square headlight SL (previous-gen) is the W129, the W124 is the first gen E-class launched in India (the square light one).

There was also a 124 convertible but that was a 4-seater unlike the 129 SL which is a 2-seater.

When my friends or me can afford one, I will learn that!

Actually, when I can afford one, I will call you and ask you to check it out. After all what use is your MK Airlines, if you cannot hop to a friend's rescue?!

Yes IMPORTED used car dealers are usually crazy i dont know if they know proper maths or not .But its not one time but many times.Acutally what happens is half of times they dont own the cars that they sell but they belong to to the owners and they tell them to sell if and when they have a buyer at there prices ,so what these dealers do is ask extra-orbitant prices
The people who own these cars are usually extrelemy rich people
and to comes to terms to the depreciation they have to take is also an issue . FOR Eg 2000 model S calss selling for 25 lacks which is as good to drive today as it was on day one when it costed 60 lacks .
So what they will do is to try to sell this car for 30 + lacks for 5-6 months and when they re finally unable to sell it that they will come to terms and sell it for 25 or 23 or they will keep it in there drive way ,secondly on top of 30 lacs quoted by them even dealer will try to make 2-3 lacks where as there right full commison is 30 to 60 thousand if you take 1 to 2 %

I had seen and advertisement for sale of mercedes 230 Slk 1998 and they guy who is a dealer from south delhi he is trying to sell it for 22 lacks and is unsuccessful from last 3 months he is even unsuccessfull of selling even one car out of the 6-7 he is selling from last 3-4 months

Where are i know one dealer who is acutally not a imported car dealer and he usually sell regular indian cars and some time bach he got Two Mercedes SLK 2004 and 2005 models and he wa asking 27 and 30 lacks respectiveley which was some serious price and he was able to sell both cars with in a weeks time .
The reson is this guy applied the same approach to do business as usual wheather the car was merc or a cielo ,which these imported car dealers dont apply
