Was informed by the showroom over the weekend that this is based on the Ambition variant. Although in my opinion, this doesn’t look as good as the Seltos X line. However, there’s novelty around the treatment. Afraid this will be one of those variants that won’t have a mass appeal.

Skoda India has launched the limited edition Rapid Matte at Rs 11.99 lakh for the manual version and Rs 13.49 lakh for the automatic version (ex-showroom, India).

The Rapid Matte edition will be limited to 400 units.







The new Rapid Matte Edition, available in an exclusive Carbon Steel Matte colour and Tellur Grey interior with black leatherette and Alcantara inserts.

Yes this is for sure the Skoda Slavia name reveal, Zac said last week they will start revealing details starting next few weeks.

The car looks Simply SUPERB.
I am currently not in the market for a new car, but if I was looking for a new car, this edition would be on top of my list.

Skoda could have had at least 1000 nos, rather than sticking to just 400.
They might want all these to be booked by Diwali I recon, hence the low number.

Looks stunning in matte . It is priced at 16.8L for the automatic in Bangalore . Is the automatic based on Style variant while the manual is on ambition ?

There's an automatic variant (petrol) for all the categories (ambition, onyx, style, monte carlo). All those categories have a manual variant as well.

I meant the Matte edition. The Matte edition Automatic in Bangalore is 16.82 L on road which is significantly more expensive than Style varaint and Monte Carlo. Which is why i was assuming the Matte edition is based on Style and not Ambition.

I'm guessing both the manual and automatic versions would be cosmetic upgrades on top of the same variant, Style, just like Monte Carlo. I understand Monte Carlo is no longer available. At least I couldn't get it about a month ago. So the Matte edition seems to have replaced Monte Carlo as the limited edition choice.

Both manual & automatic Matte versions are based on Onyx variants (10.19L MT / 11.69L AT Ex-Showroom) but additionally get a Rear Camera (10k), Alcantara Seat Covers (~20k), Trunk lip Spoiler (~10k) & a Gloss Black Trunk Garnish as far as I know.

And they are charging 11.99L MT / 13.49L AT Ex-Showroom. Which is equivalent to Monte Carlo for MT & 20k dearer than Monte Carlo AT respectively.

With missing auto headlamps, auto wipers, auto IRVM, cruise control compared to Monte Carlo.

They are basically charging over 1.4L for that exclusive Matte paint job when compared to Onyx.

Friends, a dealer is offering a stock clearance Matte Black Ambition MT 1.0 TSI for 1.5lakhs discount. Given this limited edition was already priced at a premium of ~1.4lakhs just for the paint job, Does this make sense to buy?
(Setting aside for a moment, the concern of massive drop in expected resale value due to the model being discontinued.)
