Citroën has confirmed that there will one launch a year from 2022-24.

While the ' Cross Hatchback' C3 will form the backbone of a volumes push for the brand in India and LatAm, the follow up products will no doubt further cash in on the growth trend and demand seen in the SUV and other segments that sit below Rs 20 lakh in India.

The brand has confirmed that there will one launch a year from 2022-24 on the C-Cubed platform, for the Indian and South American markets.

It is now rumoured the bigger SUV will be larger than Cactus while the new Sedan will take on the upcoming ŠKODA 'Slavia'

Citroën unveiled the first product in a range of three new models aimed at emerging markets. Called C-Cubed, the brand's proposal for the double chevron could surprise with an SUV bigger than the C4 Cactus, as well as a new sedan.

Sedan:

As Citroën could not get the C-Elyseé – still sold in Iran – the proposal may meet Slavia, with a compact on the CMP base with really interesting dimensions.

Given that Citroën is always looking to be bold in its lines, imagining this new car in a four-door coupe profile would be nothing strange, having a base of 2.655 m and with a size between 4.48 m and 4.59 m.

Citroën would only adjust costs for India as well as Brazil

SUV:

In the other C-Cubed proposal, the C4 Cactus appears as a succession target, but with the successor to the Renegade possibly a little bigger than the current one, no more than 4.30 m, the door to a larger SUV at Citroën would be open.

Will not be a Jeep Compass rival, the 4.38 -4.4m long SUV will be aimed for the youth with bold styling and maybe even with some bold curves that would make sense and not crash head-on with the Jeep.

In this proposal, he would end up eliminating the need for a C5 Aircross in the region, which should no longer spend its Latin in these parts. Still left clueless and keep wondering about the mystery acquisition by the PSO Group of the iconic brand name "Ambassador" from Hindustan Motors in Feb 2017 for USD 12 million, estimated at Rs 80 crores in Indian currency then.

Four and a half years past and still nothing is said, seen or heard about any new launch with this brand name.

Last month, the Birla group had signed a separate agreement with Peugeot to set up two joint ventures with production capacity initially estimated at 100,000 vehicles per year by 2020.

The PSA Group, which makes Peugeot and Citroen cars, said at the time it had not yet decided which model it will build in India.

With a conservative interest rate on this amount spent by the PSA Group, it will add up to several crores of Rupees to the value of Rs 80 crores since about 55 months as on date, that will all go as overhead expenses, if at all the brand is revived and launched sometime in the future.

Citroën and Peugeot cancel their small SUV project for 2025.

Reasoning:

There are many. On the one hand, the profitability of the European component of this program was deemed insufficient . On the other hand, due to its positioning within the Stellantis group, Peugeot intended to offer an "entry-level" vehicle which is more the responsibility of Citroën and Fiat. Finally, the Italian manufacturer also weighed in this decision since it takes on the role of technical leader on the South American continent and imposes its choices.

Citroën will have seven-seater SUV Coupé (CC24 Project) for emerging markets ( Brazil India..)

Smart Project has fourth product still kept secret by Citroën. Coupé seven-seater SUV will be brother of the new C3 and the new SUV and sedan.

Citroën has confirmed that the Smart Car Project also called the C-Cubed Program will give rise to the new C3 (CC21) and also to a sedan (CC26) and a compact SUV (CC22).

But that is not all it had one more product, the program contemplates a fourth product that will give rise to a seven-seater Coupé SUV (Project CC24).

The new SUV is expected to launch by 2023/2024 will be the new Aircross.

Like the brothers, the new seven-seater Citroën Coupé SUV will be built from a simplified version of the CMP platform aimed at emerging markets.

Citroën's new seven-seater Coupé SUV will follow the current models with well-creased lines. Its design will be inspired by the new European C4, but by having the third row it will be more "stretched" than the new European C4. The side lines will be well creased and very full of clippings.

At the front, the brand's new visual identity is guaranteed with the LED signature forming an X at the front. In the back, the lanterns will continue on the trunk cover.

For the larger size and also by the greater weight, the SUV Coupé project CC24 should have only the engine 1.3 T270 Flex with power of 180 hp with gasoline and 185 hp with ethanol, since the torque is 27.5 kgfm. The propellant will be connected only to the six-speed automatic transmission.

Possibility of Hybrid can't be ruled out.

Citroen's entry level SUV for India and Brazil:

Peugeot e-1008 and Citroën ë-C2 Aircross would not only be the brand's entry SUVs, but also its cheapest electrics.

For low-cost markets such as Brazil and India, the pair would be offered with Stellantis combustion engines. Around here, the most quoted were the 1.0 and 1.3 of the Firefly family present today in the Fiat Argo

2024 Citroen C3 Aicross coming with a larger footpint in Mild Hybrid and EV forms, likely India bound too.




- The new generation is expected to combine the best of both worlds, with a more mature exterior design that won’t come short of French quirkiness.

- The budget-friendly car that was developed for India and South America will be sold alongside the next generation of the C3 supermini hatchback and the C3 Aircross SUV, meaning that we will have three different models with the C3 moniker.

- The new generation will move into the more modern CMP / eCMP

- The new underpinnings will allow the C3 Aircross to grow in size, taking it from the 4,150 mm (163.4 inches) of the current generation closer to 4,300 mm (169.3 inches)

- The new Citroen C3 Aircross is expected to arrive in 2024

The CMP / eCMP architecture is compatible with both ICE and BEV powertrains, as proven by the numerous supermini and SUV models based on it. The new C3 Aircross is expected to drop the 1.5-liter BlueHDi diesel from the lineup, but that is not the only change in terms of combustion engines. Stellantis is working on a new variant of the 1.2-liter PureTech petrol with the addition of a mild-hybrid system, resulting in lower fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.

As for the fully electric e-C3 Aircross, it will adopt a familiar setup including a single electric motor producing 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS) and a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery. The WLTP range is expected to be close to the 345 km (214 miles) of the Peugeot e-2008, although advancements in the battery tech and software by 2024 could increase that number. There are also reports about a lesser and more affordable EV variant with 99 hp (74 kW / 100 PS) of power, broadening the options in the C3 Aircross range.

2023 Citroen C3 Aircross SUV spied,

Length could be more than 4m, to offer more space. But pricing will be probably similar to Nexon, Brezza segment SUVs, or even less.

C3 Aircross will be using the same platform as that of current C3. Internally codenamed CC24, it is part of the same C-Cubed program, under which the C3 has been launched. Engine options are likely to be the same as well. However, C3 Aircross could get some additional features

C3 Aircross will challenge rivals like Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.

Today I had spotted a c3 near Citroens plant and it was completely debadged . It had camouflage on all four fenders and looking closely I found an closed hatch on the front right near the drivers door . Was this the electric c3 being tested or any hybrid ?Sadly couldn't take pics since I was driving.

It is an absolute shame that they still do not offer automatic gearboxes on the c3. The C3 despite its no frills offering is a good alternative to Tata Punch and cars in that class. I have had a family member not buying the c3 only because they weren't offering an automatic version. She ultimately bought a Grand i10 new version with automatic. Imagine so many lost sales just because some one at the strategic level wasn't able to make a good decision.

Citroën FastLounge could be the name of the brand's fastback.

The CC22 project will give rise to the third Citroën model that will have a coupé body like the Fiat Fastback.

Citroën is working towards 2024 on the third member of the C-Cubed Program. As anticipated, the model will be a fastback like the European C4 X. At the time it was expected C3 X , but now indication is that the name FastLounge is being evaluated.

The Citroën FastLounge will be built on the CMP platform used by the C3 and C3 Aircross. Its measurements will be close to those of the seven-seater SUV, keeping the wheelbase of 2.67 meters. It will be smaller than the 4.48 m of the VW Virtus, its measurements should be around 4.40 meters. Despite being smaller than the German competitor, it will be taller than the rival's 1.48 m.

the hood and the optics should be inherited from the C3 Aicross, but the bumper will be exclusive to leave the CC2 Project fastback with a better entry angle.

FastLounge will keep the same side stamping as the brothers, and the front doors will be the same . The rear doors change shape due to the drop in the roof

the trunk lid will have integrated glass, having the same solution as the Fiat Fastback and not like the C4 X that only opens the lid.

The tail ights will be LED and have an exclusive design.

Inside, Citroën FastLounge will distance itself from its brothers C3 and C3 Aircross receiving new seats, panel and door linings.

the 1.0 Turbo Flex T200 engine with 130 hp and 20.4 kgfm of torque and the CVT transmission are confirmed for the Citroën FastLounge .

The 1.3 Turbo Flex T270 engine is designed for a top-of-the-range version with a more refined finish and even a panoramic roof.

This copy-pasting of interiors will not work, in my opinion.

Copy-pasting the interiors of a vehicle costing 6L into one that costs 15L (C3X) is unforgivable.

Owners of the C3X would be disappointed.

And a Latin NCAP rating of "0" for the C3 raises doubts about the safety of the Indian-made Citroen.

My only issue with Citroen is their El-cheapo product offering. After exciting us with the C5 Aircross launch, most of their offerings are like very budget offerings with evident cost cutting. They do give me that Datsun brand and they seem to be going nowhere just like their other French rival.
