Oh did not know that! I was under the impression that a PUC certificate is needed even for a new car after a few days. I did not know it would be valid for one year. Thanks!

Congratulations Darklitex on your new car . Will be great if you could share which car you bought , which sector you work with and the whole experience of getting the BH registration done in Bangalore .

Thank you Veelubai! I got my car registered in Delhi, it’s a Jeep Compass. I work in the IT sector. I had relocated from Bengaluru to Delhi in 2020 because of WFH and corona so can’t comment on the experience in Bengaluru. I plan to relocate to Bangalore towards the end of this year so will update about the process of paying fees in a different state then. My experience in getting the BH series done in Delhi is present here:

Re: New "BH" series registration | For cars getting transferred from one state to another

I've a question regarding the BH number plate series.

I'm a business owner and I've 4 companies, all in different states, all with their own GST numbers. I'm based in Mumbai.

If anyone has any idea related to this kindly help me out.

Re: New "BH" series registration | For cars getting transferred from one state to another

Has anyone in Bangalore managed to get through the BH series registration? My mother works in a Govt. PSU so I am thinking of going for BH registration in order to save the insane amount of road taxes being charged on new cars. Any idea what happens when the employee is no longer serving the company?

I don't think even the govt will have a clear idea on this also.

Also, think of these situations:

1. A person shifting from a bigger company to smaller one without changing his car, and vice versa.

2. People joining from private sector to public sector companies and vice versa.

3. Not to forget the internationally accepted country code "BH" of Bahrain. What IN lacks?

Just an update:

I finally recd the RC smart card for my car under the BH registrations. It took 3 weeks of follow up with the local RTO officials who finally relented to my persuasion calls and despatched the RC. Couple of observations reg the RC card.
1. Too much info printed on the card
2. Too small font used making the reading of details a bit difficult

I have attached the RC for everybody's reference.

What a relief, finally!

Noticed that tax paid is mentioned as LTT.. Is it an error?

I noticed that and have raised a query with the RTO team. I guess they must have missed the information that this is BH registered and tax to be paid once in 2 years. This precisely shows that the RTO staff aren't fully up to date with BH registration process.

Sir, I think it's not good idea to disclose personal details like full name, father's name, address etc. on public forums. Also, supplementing the same with vehicle / other details.

Just a suggestion.

PUC will be needed after 1 year of registration. However, none of the pollution testing centers are able to generate PUC Certificate till now as the system hasn't been updated.
I have talked to a person in MoRTH already to look into the matter and get things updated before September when people will start getting PUCs for their vehicles. Will be talking to him on a regular basis to get things done.

I own a TN regn car.

I have moved to Lucknow on transfer.

I have to transfer the car regn to UP.

Can I opt for BH regn for the old car?

Sorry, if this query has already been answered. I could not find any discussion on this.

BH registration is only available for new car, that too with some restrictions as per the state rules.

Re: New "BH" series registration | For cars getting transferred from one state to another

Is Karnataka going to start BH registration for private employees in the state soon? I have booked my car & If the registration is going to start soon that I am fine to wait a few weeks rather than pay up the hefty amount and get harassed when I move out of state in the future.
Some people do sell their vehicle when moving states as it's too cumbersome to get the RTO transfer completed.
