Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

Refreshed Maruti Suzuki Baleno to launch by February 2022.

Major update to Baleno will include fresh looks inside out, Expected to get more creature comforts and features.

Quote:
Sources tell us that the interior will also see design tweaks mainly to the car's dashboard and steering wheel among other changes. Chances are the Baleno will receive a full digital instrument cluster and a slightly larger infotainment screen as well, a first for any Maruti or Suzuki model sold globally. It could also possibly see the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Quote:
There are talks of a full-hybrid version of the car in the works, however we don't expect it to be introduced with this update.

Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

On the way to office today[Aug 26, 2021 - 8 AM], spied this camouflaged Next Gen Baleno being tested

Here are my two cents on the things I could observe
1. Slim Tail Lamps - LED hopefully
2. Changed door handles - Since camouflaged
3. Updated Alloys
4. Same old ORVMs being carry forwarded to the upcoming model
5. Headlights seems to be updated to an LED unit
6. No observations on the Internals, however Heads Up Display is expected

If it wasn't for the HR passing and a post from a reliable source like volkman10 - I'd have immediately assumed this to be a Tigor facelift ! there are so many similarities in the rear profile! Including the near identical rear spoiler.

This is going to be an i20 killer if they keep the prices under check, improve the sheet metal quality and give it a better steering wheel with a bit more features. I am hopeful that Maruti will focus on improving both active and passive safety in the car!

While I agree with all your points, why do you expect an HUD? Any specific observations?

Exactly what I thought when I saw the photo of the rear tail lamps. But the side profile and the video confirm it to be a Baleno based test mule and not Tigor.

Working with a Tier 1, my information is pretty reliable

Apart from this, this video is in front of MSIL and shot by myself, so

No worries mate - I could notice its the Baleno. Was just pointing out the similarities with Tigor in a slightly uncommon way thats all. Nice catch by the way. Cheers!

Thanks.

No observations but, you should refer the #48 post in this thread.

I hope that solves your query.

New i20 has been already dead due to insane price tag.

Come on! You know Maruti. They are the ones who are least interested in safety. They only want to maximize fuel efficiency. I am sure the next gen Baleno will have more airbags so that they will tell to people it is lot safer than other cars. On a sarcastic note, they might bring a new Heartect+ platform. That will have boron steel, strong steel, mild steel, high carbon and low carbon steel (add more fancy names here). All these reduce the weight of the current Baleno by another 100kg making it lighter than anything made with four wheels. Displaying all those fancy drawing presentations to Journalists.

On a side note, if you happen to go to Maruti service centre and get bill, just turn backside and you will notice the print - how to get maximum fuel efficiency. All they obsessed is only fuel efficiency. I am not completely blaming them, it is the majority of our population wants. The current petrol prices also help Maruti more than anything else.

I also think they will exploit the hybrid even more, and claim that the car achieves more than 30kmpl and blah blah blah.

I wish R C Bhargava move out of the company and hope someone with safety conscious comes in. Bhargava is only interested in cheap, fuel efficient cars and does not care about safety. He is actually against including safety features blaming the Govt that it increases the price of the car.

Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

Viewed the video on Youtube using chrome browser and I am sort of confused regarding tail lamps. Either the camouflage has been designed in such a manner that the tail lamps appear bigger or indded the tail lamps have the same outer dimensions as the current version.

Handles also look the same.

Headlamps: Could be a double barrel design?

See attached images for all these points.

The shape of the touchscreen and AC vents below it are a straight lift from the Jeep Compass facelift!
