Anyone knows if the engine guard is the same as the one in Dzire? I am thinking of buying one from Boodmo for my Glanza.

The Blue Baleno looks fabulous.
I assume the height is the same as the pre face lift vehicle. I am afraid if upgrading from a Grand i10,the ingress and egress is going to be little more difficult, for a 62 year old man with a height of 5’10” like me.
Can anyone with Baleno give some insight about this?

Yes it's the same part which began from Dzire, is installed in my XL6 and now comes in New Baleno too.

Go ahead, for Glanza, its a straight fit.

Regards,
Shashi

Tip: Order on GoMechanic, they have free shipping as of now for that part.

Free shipping and an additional discount of ₹156, final price is ₹1399 which I think is a great deal. Already ordered mine. Thanks for the tip Leoshashi.

Re: 2022 Maruti-Suzuki Baleno, now launched at Rs. 6.35 lakh

This is a good thread with a wealth of discussion on most of the features and choices.

But at the end of the day safety seems to have become the core issue for buyers today. And in line with some other posts I too will repeat that increasing the number of airbags is not the answer, though it may pass muster at the NCAP scores.

Without doing some structural re-assessment and changes (there is no escape from reinforcing some members) the chorus from several contributors about the flimsy build quality is not going to subside.

Maruti, please bite the bullet.

A car which comes with HUD, android auto touchscreen etc - something which has been spruced up with gizmos, still has these stalks/sticks. Why ?
I think Mr.Bhargava's soul resides in these sticks, thus maruti engineers are not allowed to get rid of them.

We have not reached there yet. Plenty of people are ready to put ~ 30L down for an untested car every month - so it's not the case of demographic either.

It is not difficult for MS to create an NCAP 4/5 rated vehicle , the light build is an advantage when it comes to crash safety and therefore a vitara brezza scores a 4 star while being not much heavier than a Tiago.

So why not all MS vehicles come that way? Regulations and market demand, both have not mandated it - Yet.

I got it for Rs. 1259, went via Simpl Pay later and got Rs. 140 cashback. . The guard has suffered some damages in my XL6 and it's change was long overdue.

PS: Sorry for off-topic posts.

Haha i quite agree. They look hideous and i think most manufacturers have completely gotten rid of them.

Nice to see Maruti going a Hud Hud Dabangg on the Baleno with decent build and 6 airbags etc . I wonder if any other brand has this display feature? Will it even last long or in the end become a placeholder for our mobiles once it stops to work.

30L yes, but not for an <10L hatchback with an unfortunate track record of poor safety scores.

They sorted the suspension out in the 2019 facelift. Rear seat was adequate but felt bad only due to the hard suspension.

Re: 2022 Maruti-Suzuki Baleno, now launched at Rs. 6.35 lakh

Spent a few minutes with the Baleno at the Sadashivanagar Nexa in BLR. A few pointers from me (most are already known)

1. Finger NCAP cleared well
2. Clutch is VERY light
3. Rear space is great
4. Front seat side bolsters are very spongy and almost don't feel like parts of the seat.
5. RM told me there is no wireless AA and we need to connect via USB, that's incorrect, right?
6. DRLs look really nice.
7. The Nexa blue is really dark now, I found the red to be a better shade.
8. HUD works decently well.
9. ICE took its own time to boot up, and a thing or two in the 360° camera system was misbehaving.
10. Arkamsys audio was pretty good, bass didn't make the doors rattle. Want to experience the Altroz as well to compare with the segment benchmark.

Was not there for a detailed check hence didn't notice minor details yet.

Re: 2022 Maruti-Suzuki Baleno, now launched at Rs. 6.35 lakh

Visited Varun Nexa on Dasapalla Hills and here is the price list for Baleno (manual and automatic)

2022 Maruti-Suzuki Baleno, now launched at Rs. 6.35 lakh-img_20220227_235851.jpg

First impression:

A "WOW" feeling when you open the door, interiors felt the likes of an i20 or an Ecosport. Quality of plastics better than Swift and Dzire. Build quality did not seem to have improved a lot, we have a Baleno in our family, doors, tail gate felt the same. Door switches have been carried from the current version and no improvement on that front.

Delivery time is 15 days for the choice of the variant and paint shade. However, Baleno with Luxe Beige shade has a waiting period of 2months. 11K is the down payment and can be made online. SA hinted that prices may soon be revised!

Test Drive was short due to Naval events and traffic restrictions around beach road. New "Dual-Jet" engine is smooth and pulls, heads-up display was crisp, however I had a feeling of "dual" displays may be due to some settings or something, need to get more information on that.

Few random shots.
