A large capacity independently chargeable battery with a 200-250 km range would have made this car a more practical and a lot of people would be willing to pay the premium for it. Some people are just so dumb (or greedy?)

1. Why is HCIL so silent w.r.t the media drive scheduled for today? Does anyone have any update on it? I guess it has been postponed.

2. Had a conversation with local dealership according to whom the hybrid variant will demand a premium of about 2.5 - 3 lacs exshowroom on ZX CVT variant. The cars will arrive next week and the test drives will start later.

3. Although the brochures state adaptive cruise control, but the Malaysian and Indonesian materials clearly mention LOW SPEED FOLLOW, which is somehow missing in our indian brochure. Considering the indian traffic conditions, seems like a hard pass. Has honda missed it to mention or include?

4. I think along with the updates and new inclusions, Honda should also utilise the opportunity to rectify the previous constraints like poor NVH and insulation levels. What do you guys think?

Honda City Hybrid media briefing is underway in Bangalore, reviews drops on 2nd May.

The Honda City Hybrid is powered by two self charging electric motors powering the front wheels. The regenerative braking helps in extending the range and improving efficiency.







City Hybrid can be driven in 3 modes- a fully electric mode, petrol-electric combo and a fully petrol version.

The Honda City Hybrid adopts regenerative braking technology. My brother owns a Tesla Model Y. He mentioned that few folks complain on motion sickness due to the regenerative braking technology but he was of the opinion that it all depends on how you handle the braking and nothing to do with the technology as-is. However, a quick google search yields lot of articles on motion sickness being connected to this regenerative braking technology. So, can someone who has driven such a car for a significant longer time comment on this aspect?

And mods, if the above aspect is something which makes sense to be focused, it would be good to have your views on this aspect whenever the official review of the Hybrid City comes in our page.

Combined system output is 124 bhp. It uses an eCVT. Mileage of 26.5 kmpl and top speed of 176 kmph.

I wonder if the rear lip spoiler and the rear diffuser would become available as accessories for non hybrid City too. Looks smashing to my eyes.

Also, wishful thinking: Honda sensing to be an optional add-on for all variants.

Don't understand Honda's obsession with undersized tyres. 185 section tyre for a car costing ~ 25 Lakhs on road is crazy. Heck even hatchbacks are coming with 195 section tyres.

Narrow rubber = smaller contact patch = lower rolling resistance = better fuel economy

Media Drive Begins:

The City Hybrid has an ivory themed two-tone cabin. Overall styling same as regular City. Tho Honda badge gets a blue highlight. Boot is split level; capacity is 306 litres. Abt 200 litres shy of the ICE variant’s boot.

200 liters is a significant reduction in boot size.

Request to reviewers, can you please check if the intake vents for battery on the back seat cause any discomfort when 3 people are seated together?
