Exactly. It looks like a bow tie or a butterfly. May be it suits more on paper or digital media, but not on the car. Looks like an addon and doesn't seem to blend well with the front grills. I don't think the previous logo was bad at all.

Well to me it doesn't look like a logo. Looks more like a design element on a grill. Similar to Rover Citytover grill.

Wish we got this red accent on the new M&M Logo, atleast as an option.
Or rather this would look nice on M&M Sports edition SUVs or extreme Off-road edition of their SUVs just like the red accent on its 4x4 badge on the Thar.

I am reminded of 2/3 things when i see this logo. As you said, it looks like a bow tie for sure. Check out this picture of the XUV700

The other thing is it looks like an origami made by a child. I remember my son making a ninja star and as he was making it, the work in progress looked like this one

With the launch of XUV7OO and its mouth watering prices, Mahindra has got us all hooked on to the vehicle itself. However, the logo was something I just cudnt digest for various reasons. Main one being, it was meant to be the logo displayed on the rough and tough SUV's coming from the mahindra stable. It might be going well will the XUV7OO considering the car is a modern looking beast. But made me think how will it look on a THAR or maybe scorpio or Bolero. Anyway nothing much to be done or discussed further on this. Still gave it a shot for timepass.

I tried some renderings with Thar and XUV7OO. Now with Thar, I understand there is actually no logo displayed in the space I had placed it, apart from a mahindra text above this area (which i had removed). Since new logos should be displayed on all vehicles prominently, right.

Also tried doing a logo if I was given the task. Some basic idea that went into it
- A rising wings to symbolise Mahindra Rise - some minor resemblance to the butterfly theme of current logo, but I would like to call it a rising hawk instead to go inline with mhawk engines.
- Twin peak concept
- The M designed to symbolise the nose of a big cat to bring that ferocity and tough stance
- PLus I can try giving some more explanations like how Pratap Bose gave to the current logo

Yep the Mahindra butterfly logo is very very close to the Butterfly appliance logo. Then again they are butterflies . Not complaining but Butterfly appliances are a major brand and why would Mahindra infringe their turf?

Saw some new Mahindra cars with the new logo. My fist opinion is that I will reject their cars just because of this cartoonish logo. What made such a powerhouse auto company to accept such an immature logo? This logo casts a shadow of first of all shallowness and then incompetence on their whole operations.
