Keeping my fingers crossed for the Jimny.
Nothing else is interesting in the 12 to 20 lakhs range other than the Harrier and Safari.

Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

We are excited to hear about the updates lines up.

Hope it does not turn out a damper, the past trend from MSIL suggests that most updates have been in the areas below

- new stickers
- a couple of new color options or combinations
- more chrome inserts
- some basic grille or fascia changes
- adding some spoilers or roof rails etc.
- rejig of variants

Lets wait and watch to see what unfolds in reality.

Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

I am not sure if the market wants a 7 seater XL6. But I trust the marketing guys at Maruti did their research. What I would want in an XL6 are
1. side/curtain airbags
2. either a small sunroof above the middle row passengers or an optional entertainment system with screens for the rear passengers.
3. Better AT

Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

As far I know, India factors for about 45-50% of Suzuki's global sales.

I don't get why the disdain from Suzuki regarding their biggest customers. They are in a prime position to launch models with all the safety features as options at least. That is enough to change the MS perception in the well-informed circles. Those that buy the current crop of cars will happily do so.

They are regarded as a small car maker in most mature markets.

Re: Maruti-Suzuki lines up updated model range for India

What is not clear is, while, MSIL portrayed "Diesels" as not a clever option with running cost calculation, they did not dare to put in Petrol Booster Jets to bring in much better power delivery almost like a Diesel. 1.2L TGDI in XUV300 is an awesome engine!

What stops Suzuki in bringing 1.0L & 1.4L BoosterJets into Brezza? Cost could be one of the factor but they would be compensating that in the better mileage that one can get from Turbo-Gasoline with very meticulous tuning by OEMs. MSIL is in mercy of Suzuki for new engines and powertrain options and it seems that Suzuki never wanted to take a note customer expectations in India, unfortunately!

This seems to shed the boxy stance of the current model. The front looks more like Honda WRV. What is the launch timeline for this?

Speculated to be planned for launch at the 2022 Auto Expo. While the event has been postponed, the launch of the car is expected to take place as planned in the first quarter of 2022.

Is that the new Brezza or the Baleno-based crossover?
Looks visually smaller than the current Brezza.

Eagerly Waiting for Maruti Cars to get a sunroof and 6 airbags! It’s 2021 and it’s high time they offer these atleast in their top end cars

Maruti Suzuki- in my opinion might have to just look at what is underneath the skin of all models rather than mere facelifts. In the present scenario people look beyond fuel economy,VFM etc.,They give a lot of importance to safety, crash test ratings and the mechanicals under the hood.TATAs and Mahindras were quick to learn.Hopefully Maruti takes that path and adds some excitement to what is otherwise becoming a lacklustre and an ageing portfolio.

Also, isn't the 6 in XL6 denotes six seater. So if they indeed go for a 7 seater version, is there a name upgrade planned as well?

SUZUKI is developing a MINI SUV based on Swift Sport. Likely to appear in India in 2023?

Wait, is that image just for representation purposes?

To me that looks like an Ignis facelift, rather than a new model. They already call it a Urban SUV.
