I was talking to a friend in MUL about this. Escuso is expected to be priced around 16. It is smaller version of Grand Vitara. He was sayng that we can expect it as early as july.

What?? Still smaller? Anything smaller and it can fit into the cabin space of an Endeavour or Safari.
The Vitara isnt all that big. Infact, when I stand next to it, I feel like I am peering into a car, not a 16-20L+ SUV. Thats an insane pricing me thinks... It should ideally be around 10.

That is what I was talking about with my friend. Already Grand Vitara looks small and if this is smaller than that .

Looks like it will be a tuscon size vehicle with a petrol engine! Going by the way Tuscon's sales have been, not too sure if this will stand a better chance.

If it is fitted out well, it will have to compete with the Honda CRV which would probably be bigger..

the Tuscon has a diesel engine, the endy will be bigger..

I wonder what will be its USP's..

looks boxy yet sharp and smart.contemporary straight line approach.
pricing is going to the big factor here.
maruti enjoys a huge loyalty bias in india.if they price it right (which i am dead sure they wont) they might have a winner.

Dont be so sure...

With the Swift and the SX4... Maruti has shown that it can offer serious VFM with the pricing...

slashing prices on an imported/semi imported unit is not going to be a cakewalk for any company.

Pics: New Maruti-Suzuki Grand Vitara EDIT : Shipment pictures on Pg.4

Hi guys.... when I went to get my car serviced at Bimal Auto, Whitefield, (a terrible experience I must add), I suddenly noticed half of the employees crowding around something. At first I thought it could be a really bashed up vehicle, but when I reached the spot.... voila!!! It was the new Grand Vitara...... at first glance, it looked nothing short of awesome!! In my opinion, this is a much better looker than the new CRV. However, I couldnt get hold of anyone to get more details abt it. If this is the same Vitara that Maruti-Suzuki is planning to launch in India, I bet quite a few ppl, sick of the rumored 6-month waiting period for the CRV, would happily cancel their booking and head off to the nearest Maruti dealer....

After the launch of the SX4, MUL should go for Honda's jugular and launch this baby right away!!

Well, the new CRV looks like a mini Q7, more so the one we saw with 18 or 19 inch wheels. Can't wait to see this in person though.
