16L OTR for the petrol automatic is awesome,so when the diesel does come it would be somewhere around 17 L.

The diesel was never coming first up and may come only at a later stage, haven't we seen the swift,sx4 trend.

Any new solid/real news on release dates?

Maruti is already building up stock for an imminent release.

And the way it looks the stock might last them for a year if it is not a diesel.

It looks very Pajeroish. Atleast in India the looks are enough to satisfy me.
Looks like the poor man's Montero.

I am looking for a SUV. If GV launched below 12L, I will go for it. But Maruti is sleeping.

Alok: Endy released as per your message but GV hasn't. Any new update on launch date?

Spoke to a MUL dealer sales guy and a service guy - separately.
Service training scheduled for 1st / 2nd week July.
Launch end July.

Price - both said as per internal grapevine, within 15L OTR at Kolkata.

The overall look of the GV is good. Onlything remains to be seen is the pricing part. Considering Maruti's past track record, the price of GV should be very comptetitive.

All along i have heard of them talking about the 2L petrol version. Is there any truth of them launching the diesel version?

"1.9DDis with a 129 horsepower engine from Renault, Suzuki promises 'reassuring performance in a variety of situations both on and off the beaten track' - and we are inclined to believe them. The 1.9 DDiS engine returns a brisk 13.2 second 0-62 mph sprint, and chugs along 37 miles on a gallon of diesel - not bad, for a relatively large car."

The article seems to be a very old one (12/2005). Also, Iam not sure about the sourcing part, engine from Renault!?

Then no diesel? Petrol on road 15l OTR? Praying for this to be not true.

Maruti, listen. Dont attempt suicide.
