It's more of a downgrade. If Ford gives a diesel AT, then at least it'll make some sense, but once you see that grill, it can't be undone

It's like they wanted to please both the types of people. One who loves chrome and one who wants it blackened out. Eco(Spoil)Sport.

Also, no matter how good the Ecosport is, it needs an entire model change and not just the face-lifts.

Those DRLs do not look OEM at all. Again, WHY??

And have they retained the DRLs inside the headlight cluster? Man, the new Ecosport is going to resemble a highway truck with that many DRLs on it!

The new alloys are the only good thing about this one.

Agree with an earlier suggestion...if you are in the market for an Ecosport, run to your dealer today to book the current version, before this one has any chance of making it there. The upside...you can haggle for a deeper discount

One of the reasons we bought our EcoSport before the facelift arrives, was the looks. Looks like a really bad grille design.

I think the front grill fiasco is intentional. Ford wants buyers to buy the new version and then spend additional moolah to replace it with the old version grill. More money into their account. On a serious note is that possible? I am contemplating Ecosport for dad but am still on the fence due to Ford's plans to exit India. But nonetheless, IF we buy it the first thing will be the replacement of this hideous grill.

Ridiculous, Who approves this kind of design? What is the thought process behind this? Looks like some leftover designs are reused here to reduce Time to Market.

Need very stringent Product development scrutiny and NPI process at Ford. This is not working out for them.

Hope this hideous Grill doesn't end up being the final goodbye from Ford India.
I guess with this Facelift launch, my 2020 Ecosport Automatic will get a better resale value with the now older but better looking front.

Jokes aside, Ford India needs to come up with NEW cars or atleast do a good job in coming up with a Facelift.
They are not Toyota or Maruti Suzuki to pull off a hideous facelift like this.

What I actually hoped that Ford would do for the Ecosport:

1. Update the rear end design (I hope they have at least given it leds this time around.)
2. Give it a more aggressive grill (maybe take some inspiration from the RAPTOR ones that you see aftermarket).
3. Improve the illumination of the headlights (give it a projector setup for the low beam at least) from the base till the Titanium+ variant. S variant gets HIDs that owners seem satisfied with.
4. Bring back manual lumbar support for the driver seat and recline angle for the back seat (kind of like a USP in this segment)
5. Provide Android Auto and Apple Carplay on all variants with a touchscreen
6. Maybe some new color options (like the Foilage Green in Nexon). That color with black rims would look nice on any car with muscular lines.
7. Update the instrument cluster with chrome rings in all variants (not asking for the color screen just the chrome rings) to make it feel more upmarket since it's right in front of you all the time.
8. An automatic option in the Diesel would have been amazing.

Instead, it seems they got some junior member of the design team to spend a few days at Karol Bagh to get some inspiration to come up with this horrendous grill and DRL design.

I am glad I didn't ask my friend (who recently took delivery of a Ford Ecosport Titanium D) to wait for this.

As Ford has no interest in bringing a deisel automatic the only update required was the addition of Android auto/ Sync / under body protection to the Ecosport's Petrol AT variant. Thats it.

But going by the recent update to the Figo where they (re)introduced the AT but again skipped out on Sync, Android Auto, auto IRVM which are features available on the deisel Blu variant, this update would be in vain.

Such an ugly facelift for Ecosport. Come on Ford, you can do better. This looks a bottom feeder fish.
I am sure this will turn off many prospective buyers. The model is 8 years old now. A new Ecosport is the need of the hour than this nip and tuck facelift.

If this is the best Ford India can do, then their days in India are numbered.

Ford has successfully managed to make the Ecosport an ugly looking car. Kudos, Ford!

I don't understand how difficult it is to give some new features such as LED headlamps & tail lamps, and change the design of the headlights a bit (oh wait, Ford will mess it up, so it's good that they've not done it).
