Congrats on your booking . Can you also check if this AT variant comes with Electronic Stability Control and Hill Hold Control? Skoda provides these two features on all Rapid automatic variants right from Rider Plus AT. And VW as usual never updates brochures on time. It still doesn't reflect this variant at all.

They can't - at least not now.
The European / UK Polo is based on the Euro specific MQB modular architecture. What we will get here in India is the MQB-A0-IN.
This is essentially a re-engineered, de-contented version of the European MQB platform for the Indian market. Euro specific sub assemblies and assemblies made out of aluminium or any other expensive material are generally omitted for these kind of exercise. Even UHSS, (Ultra High Strength Steel) usage may be omitted; substituted by AHSS or HSS.
This is the same thing that Tata did with the previous generation Land-Rover Freelander platform which underpins the Harrier / Safari twins.

Once all these are "optimised" for India, then the upper body or "top hat" will be worked upon, again it's structure "optimised" for emerging markets, and only then you will have a "new car" from VW

Thank you ! I tried checking and could not confirm the feature you asked . Not even SE in dealer could not help ! At least Hill hold control should be default I assume ! But seeing the price difference between Rider plus AT and CL AT in polo ( ~ 1.3 L ) Iam sure some features surely would have got removed .

Re: Volkswagen Polo Comfortline AT launched at Rs. 8.51 lakh

There is a dearth of proper automatic hatches in this price point and this is why this automatic sells. The CVT in the baleno and jazz are not exactly exciting, but those cars are spacious indeed. However the Polo AT, though short on space in the rear, is a pocket rocket in terms of driving pleasure. The 6 speed Torque convertor is reliable and the car is clean and classy.

Still surprises me that no other car maker is able to bring a matching combination in this price segment in terms of performance. This leave the polo to be milked forever by VW and most likely skip the current gen polo in international markets for India.

Re: Volkswagen Polo Comfortline AT launched at Rs. 8.51 lakh

The polo Turbo edition I booked 3 months ago still hasn't arrived at the dealer and they still have no idea when they will get it. Im sure there are a lot of people like me out there in the same situation. Now they have come up with a new model with AT transmission which is great but what is the point if they cannot deliver it on time. I can understand if Hyundai is asking 3 months for the new i20 but VW asking more than 3 months for a 10 year old car is unacceptable.

Re: Volkswagen Polo Comfortline AT launched at Rs. 8.51 lakh

What everyone is not noticing is the addition of automatic climate control(ACC) in the Comfortline variant! Comfortline manual gets manual AC, AT is having ACC.

It makes a lot of sense to buy the Comfortline AT over Highline Plus now. Only features I will miss now in Comfortline over Highline Plus are - auto dimming IRVM and driver seat height adjustment. Absence of Cruise Control is something I am okay with.

This is really unfortunate! Good that you have 3 months patience. But with the Polo its worth it I would say. Hope you get it soon. Which city are you from? For my booking of CL AT in Chennai, KUN tells me 25-30 days for vehicle allocation and then transit for 1-2 weeks. So I see already 6 weeks from today. I booked my Swift AT in mid March only to cancel it in May mid to book Baleno CVT, which I cancelled it last week to book Polo CL AT! So technically I'm waiting too for last 3 months almost.

Please check with the dealer and raise the issue with VW customer care. This Turbo edition is already discontinued.

Turbo edition and Comfortline TSI manual had ACC.

VW has updated the Polo brochure. Attaching the same. It has a mention about Comfortline AT in the engine section, but still the Auto-Climatronic AC and 17.7cms Capacitive Touch Screen features which the website lists for the variant is not mentioned in the brochure.

Re: Volkswagen Polo Comfortline AT launched at Rs. 8.51 lakh

Anyone has any update on this variant? A close friend wanted to book one and we contacted EVM VW, Cochin. The SA said that this is a limited edition and the whole state of Kerala might get 2 or 3 units like the turbo edition and said they aren’t entertaining bookings for the same. We insisted that its not a limited edition(because I guess they wouldn’t have named it comfortline if it was another limited edition) and asked them to take the refundable booking amount of ₹5000, which they accepted after a long call. It felt like a pathetic state of affairs as dealers are clueless about variants available. The SA also said that there is no highline plus AT variant at all, but the Calicut dealer said he can get us a highline plus AT.
Now my friend is looking for other options too as he is not getting any proper details about the variant, even after weeks of its launch.

There is a related thread where EVM VW refused to sell highline plus AT. The state at EVM is currently pathetic- only trying to focus on profitable variants while ignoring customers coming in for the juicy deals.

Please try other dealerships, if possible, even from outside the state etc.

Why not book online? I see the Comfortline AT (8.51L ex showroom) on their booking page:

I see Kochi dealership in the drop down menu on next page.

All the best

Well they blatantly said online bookings are their second priority because the site crashes when dealers try to retrieve information and blah blah blah. Man I would have put my money else where by now, but my friend is hell bent on the Comfortline AT because others in the same price bracket are either AMT's or slow.

Re: Volkswagen Polo Comfortline AT launched at Rs. 8.51 lakh

VWs website, customer care, and dealers are 3 different entities and there is no co-ordination or uniformity between them. I booked turbo edition in February and they failed to deliver the vehicle. Escalating with customer care did nothing and dealer did not give any update. They had turbo edition details on their website till end of March (including online booking option). They silently discontinued turbo edition afterwords. I cancelled the booking and got the refund after couple of follow ups. We decided not to buy any VW car after this bad experience.

These cheap marketing techniques are to stay in the news till their Taigun arrive in August.

Just an update on this. Called the entire showrooms in Kerala and everyone says that the Highline Plus AT variant is discontinued. One call to Bangalore showroom said otherwise, they have a few in stock too, which were manufactured in June 2021.
Pertaining to the current Covid-19 regulations, my friend wasn't ready to go to Bangalore and get the car and the bank loan also would need a few changes as only ex-showroom cost has to be send to the dealer. Finally upgraded the booking to Polo GT in EVM Cochin(as they themselves dont know the variants of cars they sell) which is ill equipped compared to Highline Plus AT, but he wasn't ready to run behind the hassles even though it took a hit on his budget. End note is, I still don't understand VW's strategy in India, whether its 1.0 or 2.0.
