Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the Maybach GLS 600 luxury SUV will be launched in the Indian market next week.



The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is the top-of-the-range luxury model of the GLS range. It gets a distinct exterior featuring the Maybach grille at the front and stylish 23-inch chrome wheels. More shiny bits on the front and rear bumpers and around the windows distinguish it from the standard GLS.



The Maybach GLS 600 comes in 4 and 5-seat configurations. The 4-seater version gets captain seats that have reclining and massage functions. The centre console houses a refrigerator to store champagne bottles. Other features include dual 12.3-inch screens, a panoramic sunroof and an optional AIR-BALANCE package.



The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing 550 BHP and 730 Nm and is paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system. The car comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system that provides a boost of 21 BHP and 250 Nm.



The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 will compete with the likes of the Rolls Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga and the Range Rover Autobiography in the Indian market.

I heard from a dealer that Mercedes India is launching the Maybach GLS 600 in the 2nd week of June 2021. Prices are expected to start at INR 2.5 Crore (ex-showroom).

Just crossed one on my way back from the groceries, took me a minute to realise from the rear that it wasn’t the regular one; surprising to see it on the road prior to launch, could it be someone put a fake kit and badge?

I saw Maroon one today in Pune with the red number plate. It was on the highway heading to Mumbai. Probably Media car.

Probably a regular GLS because the Maybach has silver finished B-pillars, this one has the regular gloss black.

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 has been spotted in Pune just a day ahead of its launch.

The Maybach GLS600 is Mercedes' flagship SUV. It sits above the regular GLS in the brand's line-up and rivals the likes of the Rolls Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga.



The Maybach GLS600 features a lot of chrome on the exterior. It gets a Maybach-specific front grille and a chrome mesh on the front bumper. The SUV also rides on a unique set of multi-spoke alloy wheels.

A little off-topic but still relevant, Mods please move it to another thread if required but I did the due diligence of checking if it is answered or exists in Team-BHP and I found none. Also, chances are most of us here are looking to drool and discuss this Maybach than buy it.

As far as I know Maybach logo goes on C pillar only near the end of window line. Not sure if that's what you asking.

In layman's language, wherever Mercedes think, they can add more luxury/ opulence or even length & in turn get more monies, they will like to sell with the Maybach brand.

I won't be surprised if this is passed to other ariants (G-Wagon, E/ GLE) in future.

If the "Maybach" has these levels of quality, then it's embarrassing to compare it to the Cullinan or Bentayga.

PS : Use headphones for the finest creaks, squeaks and rattling that Mercedes is famous for. A C Class that I personally drove creaked like an old rusted ship over rough seas. Cheaper mainstream cars I that own(ed) have none of these ambiental music as does the best "of" nothing.

The double M maybach logo only comes on the rear panel pillar. The front bonnet and rear boot lid always have the Mercedes logo. However, several maybach buyers have changed their front and rear logos from the 3 pointer star to MM
