Definitely Hyundai has gone greedy with pricing for Automatics & limiting the variants.
Also no major addition to feature list compared to Seltos. May be they are saving it for next upgrade (else they will have nothing more to show).

I think Air purifier was an important feature which many will miss.

With this pricing Hyundai will make exceptionally good money from higher variants while major number cruncher will be lower variants.

An almost 100% increase between the base and the top spec versions speaks about the profit margins the Koreans enjoy from their pseudo "SUVs".

Agree that they scream "VFM", but that ends there.

So, the following specs are missing from Creta top end vis-a-vis Kia Seltos top-end (X-Line)

1. Air Purifier
2. Heads-up display
3. Fog lamps
4. More configurable ambient lighting.

So, the prices are exactly the same as Seltos. Why would somebody in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 city go for a Creta over Seltos other than the brand name?

I had pre-booked Creta SX(o) 1.5 Turbo automatic. I am seriously thinking of cancelling Creta pre-booking & go for the Seltos X-Line.

The big problem now is that Kia will also get a little greedy and hike the prices of the Seltos. Pre-facelift anyway the Seltos was retailing at higher premium compared to the Creta.

Probably, they were just holding onto the hike to see what Hyundai has in store and most importantly how people react to it.

Honestly speaking, this Creta FL doesn't impress or look the part as the Seltos FL did! As a matter of fact, Seltos's FL looked almost like a generation change.

I think the Creta makes sense (over Seltos) for the specific kind of User who:
- Wants the top-end model with all bells and whistles
- Is happy with NA engine & IVT transmission. Does NOT want to pay a premium for the Turbo engine & DCT transmission.

For such a user, the Creta 1.5L Petrol with IVT SX(O) @18.69L is the best option out there. Seltos doesn't have a better/competing variant meeting these requirements.

Hyundai's pricing is certainly based on greed. Seltos looks like the winner with better features at similar price points.
Also, Seltos only misses on Puddle Lamps and Cooled Glove Box. Can anyone throw light on if these puddle lamps can be installed in Seltos?

Moreover Exterior is hugely subjective and can grow on somebody, but other aspects like engine, transmission, features, cost, ASS etc. are not so forgiving.

That is some really strong way according to me. I think for me looks matter first along or closely to that will be performance and dynamics, rest all are very much down the line.. I always have a habit of turning back to my cars/bikes when parked and keep drooling how beautiful they are. I will run away if the car's exterior looks like this. May be there are people who find the exterior last and other things first right you said

A 360 degree camera is being offered for the Elevate as an accessory by my Honda dealer - need to confirm if it is a genuine accessory or not though

It is not a genuine Honda accessory. It is offered by certain dealers only and not by all.

Seltos X-line will still beat Creta SX(o) when it comes to feature list. For people wanting a fully loaded automatic turbo petrol or diesel engine, Seltos X-line or GTX makes more sense.

Creta SX(O) with a NA petrol engine coupled with IVT gearbox is a killer combination for people who don't care about raw power but still want those luxury features like ADAS 2.0

I think Hyundai-Kia are playing the mopping up game- Hyundai Creta mops up the diesels and IVTs, while Kia Seltos mops up the turbo petrols (iMT/DCT) . I think it is a good strategy. On a side note- I am glad with my Verna turbo purchase-it has nearly everything except the 360 camera, plus additional leg room and boot space.

7. Ventilated seats (Honda doesn't provide OEM level accessory, these are dealer level fitments, check OEM accessories here
8. 360 degree camera with blind view monitor
9. reclinable rear seats
10. front parking sensors
11. drive modes
12. traction modes
13. dynamic parking guidelines
14. All wheel disc brakes
15. 8 speaker BOSE setup with Subwoofer

There could be more, these are just at the top of my head. That said, between Creta and Seltos, Seltos is anyday a better buy, since it gets much more equipment compared to Creta.
