India vs the world | Comparing car sales figures of the C2 / D1 / D2 segments

I checked the monthly car sales figures for Feb to May 2019 (Didn't check 2020 figures) and found that roughly 250000 (approximated) vehicles sell in India every month.

Out of the total sales figures, the C2, D1, D2 segments (the higher end of the spectrum) form somewhere around 30% (approximated) which translates to around 75000 cars per month.

So, I would like to know how does the total sales figures of C2/D1/D2 segments compare with G7 (minus USA) + BRICS(minus China) countries ?

Also, if there is similar data around the premium(not sure if we call it the premium?) segment of Audi/BMW/Merc/Jaguar/German Trio, Lexus, Volvo, please share.

We do really well with the C2 segment in crossovers. The Creta & Seltos doing ~10000 / month is as good as any other market. The Honda City performs respectably too at 3500 - 4000 units / month. For reference, Honda sells more Citys in India than Thailand.

Segments above, sales in India are poor. Just to give you two examples = The Camry will sell anywhere between 500 - 800 cars / year in India. USA? A whopping, unbelievable 3.4 lakh copies (pre-Covid 2019). No comparison at all. Then, Mercedes does 12000 - 15000 cars a year in India. China? Mercedes = A whopping 6 lakh cars in 2019. The Indian numbers would be a rounding off error for Toyota USA or Mercedes China.

India is strong in hatchbacks, compact sedans, compact SUVs and 2-wheelers. In the 10 - 20 lakh segment, there are a few wonders (e.g. Korean twins). Above that, the numbers are poor, with very few exceptions (e.g. Fortuner).

Considerably so. India is approximately at the point where China was 15 years ago. If everything goes right we will see good economic development throughout these two decades. Auto industry surely will ride on this growth as they have since 1991. Who would've imagined cars costing 10-20 lakh (Creta,Seltos,EcoSport,etc) would sell 10000 units a month each back in 2000s?

Found out another reason behind China's auto sales explosion. It was due to tax benefits and cheap loans which they might have exhausted now. Let's see what future has for us.

My question was on the sales figures in markets except USA and China (e.g. UK,Germany,France, Russia, Brazil).
Reason being USA and China are beyond comparison when compared to the Indian market.
