Well said Sir. Your views are indeed true. I feel the name you have given for the 5 Door - “Thar Incredible”, is better than Thar Armada.

Why can't Mahindra have a flat roof? It rises as it goes to the rear, like in MUVs. Even a small rise upsets the aesthetics. They did the same to 2-door Thar, too. See Wrangler's roof-line. Absolutely flat. It is these small things that change everything.

I think it is to do with the height of the floor and the fact that the rear seats are just a tad higher than the front ones because they are more or less above the wheels. So they have to have some headroom for the rear passengers which is why the roofline rises just a little bit. See the side profile pic of the 3 door Thar. It is almost flat but there is a very small ‘rise’. It is also very possible that this lightly rising roofline may help a little in aerodynamics and reduction of co-efficient of drag and could also be considered to be a design differentiator between the WRONGLER and the Wrangler.

I agree but how does 4-door Jeep pull it off? It has similar seating arrangement as Thar, right? Beats me.

Don't forget the Jeep Wrangler is the original. Thar WRONGLER is only a photocopy.

The internal space utilization and overall space/
layout design of the Wrangler 3 door Willys is definitely streets above that of our WRONGLER.

Our 3 door WRONGLER is built on the base platform of the TUV300. And the new 5 door is built on the Scorpio N Platform.

Saying this, if you take a sharp view of the interior space utilization, design and layout of the Scorpio N, you will find that also to be pretty poor.

Pictures attached below.

Seems like they're again being uber-miserly by skimping out on the Auto dimming IRVM. I don't understand what animosity they have against that 3000-4000 Rs. mirror. Not like they're even going to be giving this vehicle ADAS, as per the justification that they'd given for not giving that on the XUV700.

Will they ever include rear windshield wipers? It's not a luxury. And to say that the spare wheel will be in the way is just nuts.

That's a blatant lie, there is no issue with ADAS and auto dimming mirrors working together. Most likely, they couldn't find negotiate a deal with suppliers at a decent price.

The C shaped lamps may have been chosen to avoid disputes with Jeep as fully circular lamps may run into legal cases for plagiarism vis-a-vis Jeep Wrangler.

My Gurkha's rear windshield has a rear wash and wipe. The washer nozzle is fixed on the wiper arm. If Force Motors can do this, how much effort does Mahindra need to put in to fix a wiper with nozzle at the rear?

I think the issue lies with bringing the wires and the washer tube all the way to the rear, in the present design of the Thar. I believe that in the Jeep Wrangler there seems to be a channel along the side, which permits this to be done in a secure manner.

They have also thought through on how to ‘stow’ the wires and tubes when the top is removed, for example. Their engineering is definitely at a much higher level than our Mahindra Thar. Looking at this video attached, I believe Mahindra could have also copied this, like they seem to have done everything else.

And yes indeed on a big boxy vehicle it is necessary to have that rear wiper/ washer to remove the caked dust and mud which is kicked up in the wake of the Thar and coats the rear windshield.

This is indeed an auto-dimming IRVM:
