Enough of these spy pics. I think 75% of the Indians might have seen this car here and there throughout India. I remember the first time seeing it on BLR highways 9 or 10 months back. Now it is like everywhere i see it kinda thing.

I think it is there new marketting technique to drive around and lure the people around and not to launching the product

If it comes with an up tuned engine and good drivability similar to ScorpioN then i am sure it will find more home garages including mine.

Yes. In any high riding vehicle that is a big helping feature.
Other than the 2nd gen Endeavour, can't remember any other affordable SUV offering that.

I was the First member on this Forum who had mentioned that more than Thar it reminds me of Mahindra ARMADA.
Fortunately today I read this article that Mahindra may add ARMADA suffix to THAR.

Before BOLOERO, SCORPIOs era, the True SUVs of Rural Roads were Mahindra ARMADA, Commander and Marshal.

A small tidbit to share regarding the upcoming 5-door Thar - the ride quality and suspension will be very different than the existing 3-door Thar we have on sale now. It will be more in the lines of providing comfort and a pliant, supple and balanced ride experience for both front and back passengers.

A few other surprises are in store for the 5-door Thar. Wait and watch.

Thought Armada reminds me of the Armada Grand that had individual front suspension along with a lot of improvements and also give it a typical Mahindra nostalgia, I would have preferred 'Savannah' that gives it a more distinct American desert vibes.

Savari was the 10 seater based on the MM550.

Isn't it true that the 3 door Thar is based on the TUV300 platform while the 5 door Thar is based on the Scorpio N platform?

Is there any confirmed news about the actual suspension that they plan to use? For example will they consider the ‘Watts Linkage’ which is doing duty in the Scorpio N?

Remember reading somewhere earlier that Watts link suspension will not be used. Don't know whether it is the same case now.

We get some more information with this update.



Look at the wheel arches and tyre size. The wheel arches are now more squared out. Also the tyres seem to be bigger. I am expecting 19 inch tyres for the LBW Thar. The tyres are filling well into the wheel arches. It should get a host of suspension upgrades.

Also will host a bigger touchscreen with a modern driver information display. Also may see more creature comforts compared to the SBW Thar.




Also the front grill now bulges out just like the Armada Grand that shows that there is a complete new fascia that seems to be more aerodynamic.

Isn't it all revised versions of the Gen3 platform that debuted with the 2014 Scorpio facelift?

The ScorpioN having a heavily revised version of the earlier platform. I believe the Bolero would be the only outlier in Mahindra's BoF lineup not related with each other.

From early scoop pics, the Watts linkage won't make it to the 5 door Thar. Same suspension setup as 3 door Thar but heavily revised for comfort.

I don't think this is the dashboard of the 5 door Thar... From the previous spyshots, the speaker was placed in the doors. This can be an facelift for the 3-door version.

The images in both the posts are of the same dashboard, if not part of the 5 door Thar, they very well may be from the facelift of the 3 door Thar, but hopefully we'll come to know soon, as 2024 isn't that far away now.
