I felt this looked like a rebadged Xylo.

I am surprised that someone will place the company logo on a panel (in the tailgate) that is tilted downwards. And to think of it, the old logo is the least of Mahindra's worries now. They need to sort out many design elements first.

I wouldn't be surprised if the launch gets postponed to January 2022. I would actually welcome it, if they can salvage this design-disaster.

This makes me appreciate the classic Skoda designs even more!

This contraption (the XUV 700) is so bad that even it's test mules looked better than the actual final product.
What amuses me is the amount of hype this UGLY thing has been generating for a while now.
And couldn't they redesign the side profile? It looks same as current gen XUV 500.

You had 10+ years, a clean slate, a brand new product (xuv 500 to be whole together another vehicle), you have Pininfarina at your service, you have seen the national and international pallate, you have Vocal for Local going for you, this was supposed to be your halo project, one where you show the world you have grown in design and engineering and all you did was choose a mix bag from here and there.
We got to give credit where credit is due, Mahindra makes ugly looking cars(sans Marazzo).

Looks like Hyundai Creta (front looks similar), XL6 and Marazzo (rear), Xuv 500 (side) had a kid, a really ugly kid.

Rather go buy the Harrier and Safari right away.

Cause looking at the XUV 700, discounts must have stopped and Tata must be interested in a price hike.

Nope. Just a wire rounded up and taped on the side panel.

Rebadged indeed, of the Alturas G4. Have a look at the side profile. Only the third row window area has been reworked (possibly extended). Even the wheel hunches has not been changed. As usual, front and rear lights are changed. But exhaust area and spoiler looks same.

Surprising they haven't been called out on it.

Mahindra can launch and sell it without removing camouflage stickers. It might sell more with the camouflage than without.

Guess we shouldn't jump the gun here. The car may well look brilliant in flesh. Some of the design cues from XUV 500 are clearly carried forward. If a polarizing design such as the one in new Creta can grow on us, this doesn't look any bad at all.

This is definitely not a great design, but seems that the pic is distorted. Let's wait for the actual pics to judge the design.

This was the exact response in the forum regarding the design when the Gen1 XUV5OO was launched in 2013. And many indeed speculated back then that it'll be a sales disaster. And we all know what happened.

IMO the pic looks distorted and design shouldn't be this disproportionate.

But just, for a second, imagine if this pic isn't distorted. What if the car actually looks like this !! Basically making it look like it's distorted in real life when it isn't. Just imagine the pain it will inflict on many other road users. This will become a huge safety hazard. God save the Humanity!
