The Hyundai Aura is set to receive an update soon. The compact sedan gets a couple of new features including a rear spoiler.



According to this leaked document, the S, SX and SX (O) variants of the 2021 Aura will come with a rear spoiler. The S variant also gets Steel Style Wheel and the AMT version gets 3M Graphics in a Gun Metal shade.



Hyundai has also made a couple of other changes to the Aura. The base E trim will no longer be offered with a 14-inch spare wheel. It will get a 13-inch spare wheel instead. Also, the Arkamys Premium Sound system will be omitted from the SX and SX (O) variants.



The Aura comes with three engine options - a 1.2-litre petrol unit producing 82 BHP / 113 Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 99 BHP / 172 Nm and a 1.2-litre diesel engine with 74 BHP / 190 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

The exterior fit and finish is top class, still I cannot digest the rear brake light combo. Hyundai could have introduced a kit to cover or blacken the unwanted section of the rear light.

Cruise control is available in lower priced SX(O) version of 1.2 NA variant, but it is not available in the 1 litre turbo variant at all! Reason behind such omission in the highest priced model is really unfathomable!

I'm definitely not the only one who wants to have a little chat with the person who decided to add this cherry on top of the ugly cake that's the Aura, yes? It doesn't even make the car look good, though it would serve as a nice clothes rack!

Hyundai's Discussion: Let's remove cruise control from Turbo variant.
Why?
Because the Turbo variant buyers would want to enjoy using the accelerator pedal, that's why they're buying the "turbo" one.

What is even the use of this thing. The Aura looks hideous already. Atleast Hyundai could have done something radical like the Creta. This is just plain ugly. The spoiler would add to "boy racer" appeal I guess. NVM I'll never buy one of these. Not even if they are given away for free.

Also I think it will be bolted on. So even if you remove it, it leaves holes on the boot lid. Completely useless.

The lights shape is ok. It just needs to mounted higher up on the tailgate.

One word - yuck. In-line with the current trend of ugly designs by Hyundai in my opinion. But the masses seem to be liking these designs (see the success of the new Creta).

I am no more liking any of Hyundai's design.. Very quirky and polarising. Their design is biggest turnoff and very disappointed with their ignorant nature towards safety for Indian cars.

Just notice something, this probably is the only Sedan in India with a factory fitted cloth hanger . Hyundai somehow cannot seem to make a nice looking Compact Sedan.

Thanks to the new spoiler that generates 7000 kgs of drag to keep the rear of the car planted while it drives across the finish line at 250 kmph and wins the 2021 LeMans.
